The forums would not keep me logged in, so when I lurked I was a guest, but I wasn't one of the 63 last night.
Kinda annoying, but I had to go in and manually delete the cookies for community.playhawken.com to get it working.  Same problem most likely happened to everyone else after the forum going out, but others haven't bothered to fix it themselves.

You were playing HAWKEN because your MMR is around 2100 and it's relatively easy for you to find games. Players with a high MMR have a really (really) hard time finding games. Loc_tr was playing there. Merl and Chitman. I'm very sure those are above 2300. We first played in USE, I had the usual 178 ping (cuz it's the Virginia servers, not the NY ones where I get 140). Then they moved to central and we played MA, with my 210 ping. Then they moved to USW, and we played TDM again, with my 250-260 ping.

I played until it was 7:39 AM my time, and school starts at 8:00.

Not everyone enjoys playing with that kind of ping, though. Plus, US and EU MMRs are quite different.

I'm with Houruck and the other EU guys on this one. This isn't trolling, just a sad statement of fact. DerMax is a good guy and a valued member of the community. I too am saddened that a once vibrant EU community that featured some of HAWKEN's very, very best players has been all but lost.

Plus, it's also right to say that MMR on the EU side is a very different monster to that living on the US side.

The last time I remember seeing numbers like that was during open beta launch almost 2 years ago. The avg has been for a VERY long time about a total of 150-200 ppl at any one time. We are currently seeing more around 50-100. Mostly this was caused by the forums being inactive for a while and a lot of ppl giving up at that point, probably as a sign of the game being dead.

But being logged in has NOTHING to do with player population. Just if you can use the forum beyond just reading it. So that point has ZERO impact. I just found it highly funny that when I looked there was more ppl logged in but much less ppl online on a whole. Because again, being logged in means nothing to the issue that the OP was getting at. Thus I was pointing that out.

And some ppl also pointed out that the forums are also not saving their info in a cookie and thus having to relog each time they view the forums. Thus some are not even bothering logging in as they are just glancing things over or don't care to have ppl know they are viewing the website. Thus going back to the... being logged in means nothing about player population.

Who cares_ MMR is fecked up beyond repair.

I was in the wednesday event. They tried something with predators, not my cup of tea. Then a fightclub. I fought a cheap assault who used three fecking shield. So. Much. Fun. Fightclub was always a mindless cornerfight with broken tools anyway.

Then I played some TDM with NEHEMITH something who trashtalked everyone. He even said I was a son of a motherless goat. I laughed so much I cried. Then with leet scout Greedy_Smurf who spent his time in gamechat complaining about matchmaking. What an ironic name to complain about matchmaking. Then it was about my skillfires. I know. I'm sheit. I use the secondary with longest cooldown and lowest DPS of the game. Thanks Dermax by the way for the old dumbfire thread that started this all. I cant play a fuzzy bunny match without the usual troll in gamechat spamming the word. Good job rising the toxicity.

Anyway those were the only servers for me to play. There's no EU community, period. Just try to play the game more than twice a month without clanmates and you'll eventually realize the amount of assholery. It's now the land of the trolls.
