I know I do. Usually this period is the most bothersome for me because I hate being in the dark. I have problems functioning when I'm not in the know. I usually cope by sucking up to staff and then becoming useful in some way. I did it for a few other games, and I'm still useful for them, too. I also browse tumblr and all the NSFW sites I can find for ways to relieve stress while waiting.

How do you cope with the downtime_

Try and play other games but at the moment im so bored.. Only thing i can rly think of playing besides hawken is FireFall CB I wish AC3 was out on pc

I got Firefall, but I constantly get lost in it, so it's not as interesting to me.

I've got some writing I need to do, and I also have some other personal things I need to take care of.

And I can always resume playing Planetside 2 in the downtime.

I'm in multiple other betas, such as Firefall (which is a complete joke of a beta, or even a game. In fact, R5 is a joke of a developer), PS2, MWO and several others.

But besides that, I've got a house to take care of, school and work to do.
Those dishes won't clean themselves, the papers won't write themselves and those commissions aren't going to draw themselves after all.

Mech games u might just want to try MWO, though it is a completely different type of mech game. the latest gundam is out of open beta in Japan i guess.

For now, I would just continue with my spaceships in EVE

Natural Selection 2 has been my big go-to lately. Even moreso now that it's been released, with tons of toasty nublets to chew on.

Sounds like more of a personal problem.
Only solution is to keep practicing and work on the stamina, or go for a combo. The destination is only a part of the goal.

It's pretty hilarious how there are already "balance" and "classic" mods for NS2 already in the Steam Workshop.

Personally, trying to tackle the ever-growing backlog when not playing games with buddies. MWO doesn't really scratch the mech itch like MW4 and Hawken does. Been considering digging out the 360 to play Phantom Crash (assuming the disk isn't broke), Phantom Crash has a similar feel to maps and combat.

I copied my "the test that shall not be named" version of Hawken to USB key before uninstalling for the beta, so I've been playing it offline using the ~ console to cope with the "No Hawken" jitters.

Anyway, I'm in a bunch of other Betas; Firefall, Planetside 2, Loadout, and a few others I'm under NDA so can't name. These and the new XCOM are keeping my attention for now.

I have to work like a dog. This is something I can't get rid of. In my idle moments I play other FPS games (mostly BC2), or a good chess session, or study Autodesk Maya 2013, wich is in fact my main free time activity nowadays.
Considering I have to give my wife, kids and grandchildren the attention they deserve; plus sleeping, eating and visiting the bathroom, my playing time is very short anyway.
