why do you release a "beta" which isnt playable at all_
Tribes Ascend was almost retail product as it was released for open beta. Hawken is in contrary wasted disk space at this point.
CB1 ended on Monday and all the servers were brought down and offline mode was disabled.  And secondly, the purpose of any beta is to test a game to let developers know what needs work in a game including bugs, performance, crashes, server problems, and balance issues.  Most companies have been releasing completed games as "betas" which are nothing more than early access even though it is rarely the case, and in this case Hawken is in a state of "testing."

Secondly, these forums are ment to discuss the Hawken Beta, not the Tribes Beta.

Also, one of the reasons NOT to offer a 24/7 open-servers closed beta is to ensure playership during the desired testing times, to make sure they get the stress-testing done as well. If it's available all the time, a large number of players will play, lose interest, and not come around after a major patch to re-test things. They'll also get into ruts and whine (loudly) when their personal style gets altered, if they've had time to grow attached to it. As it is now, they're CERTAIN that the servers will be slammed virtually constantly from open to close.
Not the Devs' fault you didn't bother to read up on the testing schedule.

TL;DR: Suck it up, nancy. CBE2 is coming (soon) and you'll be able to play then.

Devs, PLEASE ensure proper Eyefinity support!
