Team deathmatch, my first attempt at making vids.


Deathmatch. My second attempt at making a vid, i noticed quality was quite bad in the previous, i thought i might up it a bit.
Any tips or advice is welcome for future projects

FYI, I have directly asked Meteor whether or not they would allow for the monetization of gameplay footage in any format. They said no. This means that ad-enabled youtube videos, streams etc. are strictly against their terms of use.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT. Could a dev please clear this up ASAP_ While I'll take the word of someone on a forum with a grain of salt, this is actually rather huge. It also sound positively retarded, as any e-sports scene would be dead instantly. MLG couldn't stream it, Day9 or the millions of other e-sports personalities could never exist for Hawken, pro players couldn't stream etc.

At the very least, could you clarify the way you phrased your question nonsiccus, or the way they phrased their response_

I would presume this means that you can't pass it off as something "on your own" and earn money off the ad revenue without their explicit permission. Obviously, major things like MLG, Day9, etc. would work out deals for that.

The response was specifically in regards to footage from the "Beta tests". It wasn't entirely clear whether these rules would change following the launch on December 12. I would imagine that despite the "Open Beta" nomenclature, that date marks the point at which they start charging money for the product and represents an official game launch in all but name. So it's likely that the monetization restrictions for professional streamers and casters would be lifted at that time, but I'd wait for an official word on the matter.

In any case, here's the official word on the matter at present:

I like this one the most so far. I think Sahara in general is the best map. Its blend of open and closed areas lead to some of the best firefights in the game. I notice in the graphic novel preview there is an alien forest environment. I think it would be pretty brawller if there is a forest map with terrain similar to Sahara.

Here's a video I made last night after my stream finished. It was my first attempt at recording in 1080 HD (something my machine doesn't have the horsepower to pull off while streaming live), and I quite like how it turned out.

Since it was to be my last cast of Beta 2, I really put a lot of effort into making the commentary for this one insightful and entertaining.

Whenever I tried to make a video for youtube it would always have black bars on the sides, it doesn't use the full screen.

YouTube adds those automatically whenever you record in an aspect ratio other than the default 16:9.

This is horrible if in fact true.

What I hope they mean is you cannot claim that the game is yours or something around that line. There are already quite a few big names that have posted footage with 30k+ views with adds I assume (Machinima directors, MikeB etc)
