It's much faster to just let a 6 on 2 (due to ragequits) end ASAP so the next match can start and people can start working with their new team.... and it doesn't force losses on people who played well either
TBH a surrender vote would be just as effective, and woudn't cause needless rage due to having all of your work in a match be for nothing
Swapping teams mid-match is something a player should volunteer for, not something they're forced into

Still: something MUST be done about stuff like teambalance, if not teamswap then maybe something like a stat buff for the team that has way less players.
Imo people should also get some kind negative impact on their mech stats or something for leaving too many games.
Because it ruins the fun/game for the others who want to play till the end of a match.

There seems to be no skill level involved in the MM system at the moment, so unbalanced games happen quite often. No need for a Give-Up button when the games will end fairly soon if one side is getting absolutely crushed in MA & Siege, and DM games are on a timer in any case. If not autobalance yet, I think there should be the option of switching your team once inside a match.
I wouldnt oppose a leaving penalty, but because you dont get HP or Exp for a left match, it shouldnt be too severe. Maybe something to encourage players to keep playing, even when they join an already lost match. The carrot and not the stick. But if there is any system like this, dont make it about the pre / after-game lobbys when we are waiting for enough people to start the game. That would be fairly stupid.

People are going to AFK in base either way, for the record. It's an attitude issue, not a mechanics issue

sure it is,
still there should be repercussions in a game for ruining other peoples games.
if not, why should people stop_
other games handle this problems with temporary bans & the like.

yes something like that.
sure stuff like dcs or power-outs could happen, but everytime someone ragequits, he ruins the game for the rest of his team.
they need to add stuff to make people WANT to finish the match & not abandon their team.
like more hp/xp gain or something.
or, as mentioned abve issue bans.
