If there are certain player behaviors that are expected by the devs, those behaviors can be encouraged by an incentive system. Say you want to use a weapon that is not superior to what's available by default so much as it is different. Okay, you need to buy it (or unlock it, or whatever) first using points earned by doing the things that make HAWKEN a good experience for everyone. Healing yourself is available and works fine, but if you heal a team mate you earn points, if you gets kills without dieing you earn points, if you spot targets for your team to take out you earn points, etc.

Without such an incentive system, however, I don't see how a team-reliant healing system would work reliably enough to be worthwhile. Relying on strangers in multiplayer games can be satisfyingly rewarding or it can just ruin an otherwise good match.

I would really like to see in game repair system.
Mech Bay (Preferred - Issued by Commander with limited use).
OR
Exit the Mech to make the repairs yourself, leaving you incredibly vulnerable.

Damaged weapons (that are irreparable or not) to be able to be jettisoned to gain more Speed in Game (Allowing "Flee with Speed" or "Dump and Run" mode)_

Salvage, From Mech's Killed in the field.
Would be nice to know the guy with the Rail Gun can have it taken by a NOOB with a shotgun..
Maybe have the ability to attach them in game in Mech Bay_
Possibly a Round Limited Use with credit or XP issued at end of round_
Be good or be good at it, otherwise you'll be pushing a pram.

What about the idea of supply drops_

We've seen the big ship floating up in the air in some of the videos. Well, what if it dropped supplies (randomly, or on-demand) via a drop-pod, to certain areas of the map. These drops would create hot spots of players fighting over the supply drops and potentially creating more action spots on larger maps. Winner of the fight gets the supplies, or, the guy who runs past everyone fighting picks up the supplies, and gets out quick. Everyone would either see the drop pod falling from the floating ship, or their HUD would ping them to the drop pod/drop spot.
Just a thought...

The idea of repairing your mech by the little mech during a little break of gameplay is already smart and looks amazing.

Repairing around a corner keeping yourself self-rooted in order to do so sounds interesting and definitely different from the norm self-regenerating healing system.

Look forward to give feedback on it come play time :D

Repair bays are a good idea but when you repair a mech it is only a repair needed to function through a fight.  never a 100% repair unless the pilot owns multiple  mechs. (i.e. i have 3 mechs).  To repair a mech you will need a crew to remove the damaged part.  (limb replacement).  Using  wenches, pulleys and cranes to  pull off the bad limb. An electrical team, mechanic team will be needed to use torches to cut through the metal so the electrical can be connected and chains attached before the welder reconnects limb.  The place of repair does not have to be limited to solid location if the designers use mobile equipment like scissor lifts and cranes for hoisting equipment from trucks to repair mechs on the field.  The maintenance team can drop new limb in place with crane.)  Use a track (like tank tracks) to move legs into position for attaching electrical, hydraulics, and chain repairs before a mech can be rolled out the fight again.  (a mobile assembly line).  Pilot must call in damage  mech component so your repair team can get the parts you need ready at the repair location.  (drones and on field repairs should never fully heal a mech.  a perfect mech is one rolled off assembly line like a new car.  if a car is totaled it always pulls to the left or shakes and makes noises that weren't there when it was new.  i really look forward to breaking stuff in this game and have been a fan of mech games since sierra used herks in earth siege.  i hope we can salvage or get salvage points.

i expected the shutdown to repair feature, but i actually like the idea that some people mentioned about having mechs designated as medics. the question is, would the mech being repaired still have to power down_ if so, it would only be fair for the medic mechs to at least be able to carry a small weapon to defend themselves and their patients, unless you have someone else escorting the medic around. also, would the player being the medic just hold a button to repair, or would there be a more detailed way to interact_ plus, if aforementioned modular repairing is used, the medic and the one doing the repairing could decide which parts were more crucial to be repaired, depending on the situation. how would they go about implementing that_
