[DisorderlyMechanic]

In the menu system the text size of names will be decreased so they they don't appear out of bounds. In game there are no bound so this doesn't happen but the name can appear to be incredibly long; this is why i would like it if names where shrunken down to a smaller size.

The reason i'm suggesting this change is because i find it distracting and defiantly annoying.
 


The screen shots i took were at quite a distance but when you get closer to the player the names length seems even bigger and takes up more of the screen. Anyway that's my suggestion thanks for reading.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to start any sort of witch hunt on the play included in the screen shot or others with an unnecessarily massive name, i just want to point out that this is a problem.

32W and Massive_Assailant_Stingray are, as far as I know, the only accounts that have this issue. New accounts are limited to 18 characters, so they are the only accounts that will ever have this issue in perpetuity. I for one find the novelty amusing.

(Personally, I would love to see my username continue to dominate the screens of others, but if there to be done sort of truncation preformed, I request that the truncation be implemented in such a manner so as to indicate that the name was truncated, e.g. by truncating and appending "...")

I would like to add that, while I don't think it should be truncated in game, I do think it should be truncated on the forums in a few places. It breaks the formatting if 32w is the last poster in a thread.

Yeh, I admit that it properly gets on my nerves. I mean it really does but I guess that's the point and it's entirely my own problem for being so fuzzy pedantic about such things.

I think the reverse of this; the CSS can handle my display name much better than the game can, and the game is, to me, more important, given its real-time nature.

Now personally I would like to be able to write my true, real and totally existing full name of Arenius Retanius Emano Goran Onvald Nator, the IIX, but with your comments here (and the devs being all smart `n sh*t) it appears I have to live under my oh so boring name that is mine I tell you, mine!

Sorry if it felt like i was "freaking out". Like i said in my post this is not a witch hunt and i want to iterate that this isn't anything personal towards any player that has a long user name. I just found the name distracting/ annoying, which is a reasonable opinion. 

 

Looking back i probably should of blurred the name of that user, though it seems that wouldn't of made much difference everyone would could of guessed who i had taken a screen shot of anyway.  Also i want to point out that 32 W isn't the only person to have a long name, there are others.
