I don't believe it does, My MMR hasn't shown any change if I join in on the end of a loss. If you've been in the match a while and you lose, its going to affect your rating though, depends on score relative to others. There's been times where I lose the match but MMR goes up because I score very well in respect to others.

I'm no expert and my answer is by and far not official. Just my experience. Mileage may vary.

This is the exact reason EoD never looks at career stats when we built our comp team.

Elo is more commomly used because it tracks on a move by move basis per game per period. Glicko measure per game per period with time disperity in mind. So Elo is more intensive and specific per game and only carries a disperity between the ratings of opponents where Glivk is broader per period with a time unplaid applied to it and also invludes a rating disperity between oponents.

The OP's original complaint with abandoned stat could be resolved if you had the option to immediately leave a server after arriving mid game.  

 

If only after you spawn for the first time, the win/loss is counted, then an un-spawned pilot has the opportunity to back out, and have no effect on the game.

 

 

The issue as to whether someone should put so much focus onto stats is another issue entirely.  I used to long ago, it sucked, made me play far too defensively, and was ultimately futile.  

 

Then I joined a clan, made good friends and watched my precious KDR collapse as I wrecked and got wrecked in equal measure.  Now i play with friends, I don't give a fuzzybunny about stats and enjoy the game a whole lot more as a result.

 

The wider issue is that this game can be un-welcoming and push people away. After a few months what is the hook to keep playing, for many there isn't a clear one, Farming MMR or KDR or win/loss ration is often something someone does who deep down wants to stop playing Hawken, but still loves it, and wants a reason to keep playing.

 

I tried all those, none are great, best advice play with friends, and/or join a clan if you can.

This is so damn true. Now tell me how to do that, there's something broken with me in this regard. I would be so much happier never knowing my stupid rank or that such thing even exists because it leads to the need for constantly proving myself as a competent player because of my extremely competitive nature.

 

So what this means is i spend my hours staring at the stupid numbers instead of having fun and it's kinda stressing. If my rating goes low i feel low.

 

Don't go down that road Eli,  it's a fools game, I've been there.

 

You're already a very very good player. You move as well as many in the clan, I feel I have to play my best whenever I fight you, I often target you first because you are such a big threat, and I am very happy when you are on my team.

 

Hopefully that means more to you than any stupid stats.

I didn't understand why he went out of his way to try to correct me by asserting that we haven't played bunker Seige a little while ago either, he seemed pretty smug that it didn't exist.

Well, thank you. As to the point about bunker Siege, I believe I acknowledged your correction of my correction. And I presume nothing. There are a fair many posts you've made associating yourself with the greater "we" as I quoted one above. I don't dislike you, but it left a rather sour taste in my mouth.

No one really. You made the assumption that I was talking about you, no matter how true, lends credence to the statement because the guiltiest ones always fall into that trap. Speaking of pilot stats... the stats you may see when you compare yours with some one else's profile are much more readable than the "standard" way to cehck your own stats. You know what I mean?

 

The colors used to shown your stats by the default option are not so accessibility friendly as when you compare another pilot's profile to yours for checking your stats (achievements and so forth).

I started taking cs:go serious a month ago, they use elo.

 

My experience there gave me a new respect for hawkens mmr system.

It's actually pretty good (hawken's) in comparison.

cs:go/elo system is very good as well, but it puts more emphasis on team wins/losses than hawken's, which some ppl hate.

Hawken's scheme is about individuals taking their piece of a server's pie (total mmr in server).

Hawken's is less stressful. Both are equitable and effective matchmakers. 

I'd be happier without any of it though.

I'm anti match making, and believe it keeps players from developing as fast as if there was no system.

Being unable to join matches sucks, but stomping is no fun either.
