I may not get either mech, but if I were to choose one, which would you guys recommend.

 

HC is no issue. I don't have enough for a Rocketeer, but I can get it soon.

 

I ask because I want to try out a Turret-able mech (the only heavies I have are Incin and G2 Raider), and Grenadier isn't really my thing.

Trust me when I say this, if you're deciding on a C class mech based on its turret mode alone, then you've made a very poor choice.

Also major apples to oranges, Vanguard is a close range only mech, while Rocketeer is a mid range to long range mech.

I'm not basing my decision on turret mode. I was considering getting one with a turret mode, since neither C-class mech I have has one and I was kinda curious about seeing how it is.

Those two play completely differently. You said the Grenadier wasn't your thing, so try out the Rocketeer. Although, I'd just wait for a test drive :/

I did test drive Rocketeer when that was a thing, but that was my first week playing this. I've yet to play Vanguard, though.

Vanguard has effective turret mode.
