I am preparing to blow the dust of 6 months (whenever the previous forums went dark and I thought Hawken was finished) off my mech hangar and dreading all of the rust scraping I assume will need to be done..

 

So this thread is designed as a support group for all of us old forum-lurking, been-playing-since-open-beta, lovers of the stompy stomp mecha MOAR DAKKA DAKKA! that are ready to take the plunge and get beaten up by all the fuzzy bunnies that kept honing their skills when we lost the faith.

Good to be back. Played for around 3 hours last night and it's killing me cause I can't play again until Wednesday. All I wanna do is blow stuff up!

Fuzzy bunny is what the language filter changes swear words to since the beginning. No idea why adhesive picked that though.

Man I haven't played Hawken in a looooooooooong time. I first started in CBT or OBT idk and I somehow ranked up to level 28 in a week. I quit after it was on Steam cause I was bored of it and I've recently started playing again. Let me just say, playing against level 30s when you haven't played since pre-Steam is not very easy.

played a match the other night for the first time in a month, I usually have been getting one in every 2 weeks or so...

 

still pretty terrible as I was when I played consistently 

 

I think Co-op Bot destruction is gonna help get some super rusty people back into the game.

In between i changed to much better hardware gtx980 sli  and nice 4790k. Never used Physics before on AMD but must say looks very nice. Not that i would enable it in game because you got too much distraction from this. 

 

Played some Training round and ffs they managed to kill me twice  hahahah.. how is this possible. Think i must do some more training before going life. 

 

to be honest. i missed the sound in the Garage. Really hope that Hawken get a warm reboot with good developers. It deserve it. But it will depend if new players were attracted and interested to stay while having fun playing the game.

Never posted on the forums before, but I have been playing Hawken since the day it went Free to Play. Used to play on a laptop that got about 10 fps + lots of input lag at lowest settings now I get 60 at Max! Hoping to see you guys on the field. ;3

Hopefully there's still room for us heavily oxidized Alphans that stopped playing around about the time that the Tech update landed.  Christ (and Saturnine) only knows when that was, tho; it feels like back when Pharaohs roamed the Earth (in 30 ton fighting machines). 

 

Oh, and I also qualify for the 'old' part of that title: wrong side of forty but still slapping whippersnappers around like the petulant upstarts they are.  Well, mostly.  (Okay, partly.)

Having some problems getting into the game, the few times I tried TDM server I just got obliterated, cant dodge for fuzzy bunny right now.

Been  trying to get some of the rust off with bot matches but doesnt seem to be helping all that much.

Think I need to figure out some keybinds or macros since my pinky is as good as useless for pressing shift quickly&repeatedly (work related accident).

I'm sorry to hear that about your pinky! It might help to use the option to double-tap a directional key in order to boost or dodge in that direction (double-tapping backwards makes you spin around). I've been using this for a long, long time now.

Edit: Yeah, that didnt work out too well. Think ill just do something with AHK and try again tomorrow.
