What in the fuzzy bunny is this?

 

It's been mentioned that many of our current pilots are rogues and dissenters. Maybe this fact speaks to a larger issue on Illal. Maybe in a world controlled by corporations, it is the free radicals that thrive. Those that break free from the chains of social norms and "the way it is." The "Dynamic React Repair Target" android line.

The purpose of this
line was to be a mass produced android that would replace humans in the technician axe line, this was met with extreme difficulty's and malfunctions with the unit, and was unable to fully develop.

Test model Alpha, this model was plagued with meany kinds of issues with the on-board logic processor, such as healing all personnel on the field, this included hostile axe pilots. With that issue was also the priority sensors, this model always picked the axe pilots with the lowest chance of survivability, thus the unit would go on a suicide run to get that one pilot with one health in the middle of a fire fight.

This model had many improvements over the last including better logic and a more agile frame. The logic was still faulty, with the unit always still trying to save the one pilot with the lowest health in a fire fight, but this time around we were able to have it detect hostile axe pilots, so more often than not it came out of field testing well, but when we had it under pressure working with real human pilots, the prosser failed due to conflicting statements and commands from human pilots, It was clear we needed to come up with a new logic line.

With this model came a new logic system, now the unit can differentiate from orders of lower and higher priority, with this came a better priority sensor, now this model could pick a axe pilot under the right circumstances, this brought on a new problem.

Axe pocketing, DRRT2 always picked the bigger C-class mechs and if one did well in the field it would heal almost no other pilot even if directed to.

Last hope for the model line after the accident.

We brought over the final frame design and the new logic prosser with the latest HAVIC OS.

In real world testing this model looked promicing, but ive said that before. The model accelled at healing teammates that can protect the base Axe, but in one to one combat the bot sufford the same errors as 3 did, but we made some quick improvments to hopefully keep from a repeat of 3.

After the improvements the model worked so well the guys at Sentium were ready to buy the design! But one thing kept the deal from going though, its personality. Over the age of the test models the base OS has adapted and has learned a few things from its designers, not all good things, such as having emotions, to a extreme degree.

After the investors saw what the bot could do outside a Axe, they withdrew there offer, and out research was shutdown.

DRRT4 was meant to be terminated, but somehow it managed to go Rouge and run off into the wastes of the Bazzar sector during a final Axe test.

Research Notes: As you may have noticed, there is a considerable amount of missing data. The subject has proven to be very secretive about himself, and his history. Across all eyewitness accounts of the subject, one thing has remained an absolute constant; the suit. Every person to have ever had contact with the subject said that he wore a functioning space suit that bore no identifying emblems. The subject never took off any part of the suit, and would become defensive if someone tried to force him to. Though he wore this full suit, he could communicate clearly through small speakers that broadcast his voice outside the helmet. Expressions were managed by a holographic projector. The system would project various expressions (often as �emoticons,� but also various drawn cartoonish faces the subject reportedly called �memes�) onto his faceplate, to be seen by others. The subject is very mobile, almost nomadic; he never stayed in the same area more than a week before moving on. Fortunately for the purposes of this study, this means plenty of people have seen and/or spoken to him. When interviewing the volunteering eyewitnesses about the subject�s personality, several constants arose. Firstly, the subject is quite jovial and affable. He apparently tells many jokes (reportedly, with varying degrees of success), and is always willing to help someone who needs it. It has been gathered that the subject originates from somewhere offworld, due to the fact that witnesses would recount stories he would tell. A number of these stories were from �back home.� Unfortunately, he never alluded to where �home� was, and only told the minimal details to his audience. One significant story the subject told was about his arrival. According to witnesses, he told them that he travels from system to system, and planet to planet. He "drops" into an area in conflict, and helps. Allegedly, he dropped onto Illal after learning about the war and the Giga-Structure. Upon learning this, atmospheric data was analysed, which resulted in one object (originally labeled as a meteor) falling to surface. It is still unclear if there is a connection between this event and the arrival of the subject, though most of us believe this to be the case. The subject was never seen in any kind of depressed or homesick condition, and was reportedly �infinitely patient,� and �impossible to upset.� That being said, there are two reported outbursts where the subject hospitalized several people. Both instances were triggered by people trying to forcefully remove or otherwise disturb his suit, and in both cases, he gave the offenders ample warning. This leads our research to the unofficial skirmishes the subject participated in off the battlefield of the corporations. Many who came forward are either low-ranking employees of an MPC, or are employed by a smaller company, or even, in the case of several interviewees, independent farmers and settlers. The subject has a strong �code of honor,� that he strictly adheres to. Some of these independent or low ranking employees told our interviewers about times they were being attacked by looters or raiders, when suddenly, enemy axes would be terminated or chased off by a lone mech, whose pilot would open the cockpit, say, �Have a nice day,� and be gone. Those that have fought with him on real battlefields describe his method of combat to be finding what the team needs, and filling that role to the best of his ability. Many said that his participation and dedication to �fighting the good fight� turned the tide of the battle. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. He just flew in, his Zos charging straight into a skirmish to help one of our younger cadets. Keep in mind, the Zos is not a combat platform. Armed with a Redox and a repair torch, he finished off the cadet�s attacker, repaired the officer�s axe, and took off on his merry way to the next fight. He repaired and fought with us for the remainder of the skirmish. His service was invaluable to us, but he would only accept 100 Scrip as repayment. Before he left, I asked him what he was going to use the money for. He turned and looked at me for a brief moment, as if considering why I was asking him. He eventually answered however, with this, �To help the next group that needs me.�

Another commanding officer, this time from Sentium, had this to say about the Spaceman�s arrival:

We were, to be frank, getting our fuzzy bunnies handed to us. Our pilots were doing their best, but it was just not enough. The issue was, we were a unit comprised largely of Brommens and Hieframs; we are an infantry team after all. And normally, we can put down anyone who gets in our way, but this was different. Those fuzzy Prosk bunnies got smart and assembled a team of Pistons and Reses. The Pistons were giving us a hard time up front, and the Reses were taking potshots at us from behind the lines. There was nothing we could do. But then, there was a loud BOOM behind me. I spin my Brommens around and prepare to engage, but the sight that greets me was not what I was expecting. Standing there just long enough to fire off another Sabot round, is a Spree. Just as I was starting to believe my eyes, he dodged to the left, in time to avoid a hailfire of bullets and TOW rockets. From that moment, as hesitant to believe what was happening as I was, things changed. With this newfound long range support, my team was able to focus on the Pistons, while our mysterious ally distracted the Sharpshooters. And it wasn�t just the fire support that changed the battle; his spirit effected my crew. He fought with such determination and strength of hope, that my team started to hope with him. By the time it was over, the Prosks team was so much shrapnel and smoke, and mine was reinvigorated by this bright soul. When he jumped out of his Spree, his attire surprised us (it�s not very often you see a Spaceman in the desert), but not enough to stop us from thanking him. When I asked him what I could offer in return, he simply replied, �Well, if you�ve got some to spare, a little extra Scrip could do a lot of good.� He left that day a mere 150 Scrip richer, after all he did for us.

Bio: Does not know how he ended up in Illal but as all he remembered was that he was taken by shadowy figures right in front of his family. Fought in the Vitrolium Wars as a child soldier out of desperation and survival alongside a group of twelve other war orphans - he was the only survivor of the thirteen.

He could still remember the look of horror of his eleven year old sister with light purple hair screaming his name. After that everything went black and the next thing he knew, he woke up in some ship on fire with a gaping hole on the wall to his right and a few ded Crion agents.

 

He wasn't on Earth anymore...

 

Ten years later, he told his story to some journalist in an undisclosed location - how he came to be, how he found twelve other children like him, and how he was the only one of the thirteen child soldiers to survive the Vitrolium Wars. Now he works as a freelance mercenary in hopes to purchase a shuttle pass back to Earth...

Bios:

He once served Aboard the sentium Flagship "Logica" along with his Alleged family members. His father was the Captain, and his mother was the senior medical officer. His younger brother and Baby brother were also on board. From an Early age he had demonstrated exceptional talent in piloting and Tinkering with mechanical equipment. When he was 9, He created an early version of what is now known as "Fred" Had he completed it, "Fred" would have looked much differently than today.

 

Unfortunately He had an "Accident."  While Tinkering with various devices in the engine room, He was accidentally Locked inside an unused E.U. Reactor when the ship came under attack by Crion Assault ships. In order to escape, the Logica used all available engines which required massive amounts of energy. This meant the Reactor he was in was to be used at Unsafe levels. He was locked inside an Active reactor for an estimated 72 hours during slipspace. Only discovered when the Reactor Exploded. Causing an Emergency Stop. 

Doctors had absolutely no idea how he was still alive. The Energy units had corroded his left arm to green crystals, and A great deal of Energy contamination was already in his bloodstream and Vital organs.

In a last ditch attempt to save him, His mother, the senior medical officer, Implanted various devices into his back and Replicated a Brand new Arm for him to use. We estimate the devices are for Regulating the E.U. in his body and for powering his New arm.

 

Since that day, he had been trained immensely in a Separate location, Becoming a test bed for several experimental coordination systems for Mechs and Axes. All while Running Courier missions and doing his part in the Sentium Defense forces.

He also learned that his body completely Depended on Energy Units. Not just for his internals. He no longer Ate meals or found it necessary to sleep. All he needed was to be..."Charged"

This went on for another 6 years.

 

On 5-67-2154

The Sentium Flagship "Logica" and her Escorts were Ambushed by a Prosk battlefleet on their way to Illal.

Logica was evidently in the area attempting to Evacuate a Sentium Orbital research facility before the Prosk's fleet arrival.

The Logica was, without warning, Obliterated with the Full firepower of 25 ships bearing down on her and the station.

The remaining Debris burned up in the Atmosphere.

No one survived.

 

Brandon was in another location when he recieved the news.

Distraught with Rage and sadness, He Obliterated the facility he was in when they Refused to let him go.

This is where he Arrived on Illal, Where the Prosk Battlefleet #45 engaged and forced him to Crash land on Illal.

Subsequently His arrival was not long after the the release of the "Hawken" virus. 

Its not understood, nor confirmed why, But Brandon has been Unaffected by the Hawken virus without any Protection.

Rather than that, Multiple eyewitness accounts have stated "Army" as he came to be called in the 3 years he was on illal, That he was doing "Magic or some level of Sorcery" Its only much much later after intense investigation by prosk  when "Army" single handedly eliminated  the 56th Battalion of C-class heavy Axes without a mech that a Theory was established. "Army" was using the Hawken virus as a weapon.

While ludicrous, survivors SWORE that he was manipulating Giant black Storms from his hands, All while Emmiting a Sick Green glow. No discernible evidence has been found that proves otherwise.

 

To this day, We have no idea where or what he is. All we have been able to gather right now are hearsay and rumors from battlestruck Prosk battalions and Sentium military. Neutral forces would have the most info on him, but are Refusing Questioning.

 

Prosk has set a bounty of 900 billion credits on him, Clearly stating that this man is a Threat to humanity in every way shape and form.

Sentium, While not as battered compared to prosk, has set a bounty of 150 billion on him for the Destruction and commandeering of several experimental Sentium gear.

 

If anything is to be made certain, He has an Immense grudge on Prosk for the Death of his family.

Only Prosk targets have been obliterated, and very little has been reported on any sentium or Neutral factions.

My preliminary report on the new mercenary going by the call-sign "Myrmidont" is complete pending your review.

We first became aware of Myrmidont after tracing the sales of retrofit parts for L2 "Moke" model mechs that have gone missing from our inventory. Exactly where he obtained the busted scout chassis and power plant remain unknown to us, but we suspect he obtained it after Crion's collapse. Legal never bothered to charge the eventual recipients of our stolen parts as long as we got the supplier, so we never flagged him.
I've attached his civil file but for the most part it's incomplete and what is there is hardly informative.

Due to the incompletedness of the file, we suspect he was in low-level mech operations with Crion (and you know how much data got lost when they fell through), maybe a mechanic or junior pilot. He was definitely qualified to service and pilot mechs before we heard of him.

He took some time rebuilding the Moke from a range of black-market parts, and first took up contracts with some civilian groups - patrols, recon, retrieval of salvage, that sort of stuff - and later signed up with our Field Sciences division as an armed supply hauler. I queried them but the most I got out of them was that the egg-heads liked him, and that he knew his way around all kinds of computer gear. Not surprising if he had to retrofit a Moke's processor cores with non-standard parts.

After he saw a few actions against supply raiders the Field Sciences Division recommended him for Deniable Ops. His sealed file indicates a knack for piloting A-Classes, probably from practice, and he's been on several contracts with us since, on and off. We think he has a family in the slums - regularly cashing out his pay and making visits to a consistent area in the Northern district. We don't have anything further because he wasn't flagged and we don't have the resources to do a complete check on every contractor unless a flag comes up.
His COs have spoken favourably of him, but note that he "sometimes skirts combat in favour of gaining more intel, then pushes his Moke in like a berzerker". His neurological profile is typical for A-class pilots - a bit further up the independence-risk taking scale than an average pilot.

His mech is identified by black combat stripes but no other markings, though he seems to be constantly upgrading the actual hardware components.

Is he a security risk? We don't have any evidence of links to known hostile groups, and his value as an asset outweighs any cost or detriment. My assessment is to keep him on board.
If he attains an Officer rank, we may have to locate and move the supposed family to secure housing. They would be a potential opening for blackmail that we can't afford our officers to have.
