So, I've come across several comments from various sources now asking when new content is going to be released, when some of the more glaring issues of HAWKEN will be removed. To all of those people asking:
It'll be a while longer!
Not only did Reloaded only just get the game two months ago, but we have no idea how big of a team they've delegated to this game (if anyone does know, please enlighten me). Reloaded was a company before HAWKEN came into its possession, and thus they have other games to take care of as well. Another thing some fail to realize is that the backend to this game came as-is - there's no manual for them to refer to, as far as I know. If I had to guess, they have some code comments, but I know just how hard it can be to reverse-engineer code that someone else wrote - especially when it is an integrated part of a larger project. Getting familiar with the game - both its front-end and back-end - is a huge task that doesn't involve the community much at all. Tiggs and Josh have been doing an excellent job as it is keeping us updated with progress, involving the community in decisions and data collection, and even releasing old, inaccessible goodies as a substitution for not having content ready to release right now.
Aside from all that, I'm not sure you all realize just how much time it takes to design & create a model to work with a pre-existing bone rig and animation set, then go through the tedious process of giving it its textures. And the difficulty increases when you are trying to make the models and textures fit the style of pre-existing ones - models and textures the guys at Reloaded didn't even make! For all we know, they might not even have someone on the team yet who is capable of making these models and textures.
Anyway, TL;DR: You can't rush progress. Especially when the progress is already going pretty quickly. HAWKEN isn't to a point at which it needs to be massively advertised to bring in new players - and we can see that Reloaded hasn't started doing that yet. Most of the game promotion has been within the existing community. It's harder for us who have been here a while without seeing much happen, but be patient - I'm sure the devs have lots of good things in store. ;)
