A word to devs: get rid of the involuntary (unbalanced) team switch.

This is just the most negatively intrusive garbage team play has in this game.

I will F5 - exit immediately from a match when this happens.

Quit it.

Ask me to switch to help a stomped-to-death team, I will.

Smack me with this sh!t, and I'm gone.

Fix it.

First off... You are saying that you that when your team is stomping the other because of unbalanced teams... You just wanna win and get them prizes....

Second: why the hell you ordering the devs on this??? I do t think you have any individual authority here whatsoever to do so....

Fith: I heard that apparently the auto switching doesn't happen after the game is more then half way though ... Idk I just heard that somewhere....

Just ask in some kind of very constructive arguement.... No need to swear and all that stuff....

Seventh... Maybe take a break from hawken man? Idk if you start getting pissed at a screen and a mass of programmings then I think you should take a Lil break.... Idk...

Tho guys... It is true that this problem is very frustrating... But remember that the origin of these problems come from quitters...

I think we should do a system like league of legends... You can't go into another game till the game you quitted finished.
We put a reconnect button there and when you reconnect you could maybe resume your score?
If you exit the game, a spot on the game could be reserved for you for a period if time ... Idk like 2 mins? Then after that time, a place won't be garentied (don't know how to write that) BUT of course you can still get in the game if there's a spot.

This could penalize quitters maybe making it a bit more punishing, won't really affect IRL reasons to quit and all (unlike the deducting hc system suggested in the past) and for people who get DC they can come back...

I think its a lot of positives here and less downfalls XD

You absolutely already are asked to switch before ever getting auto-switched and auto-switching is disabled after midway through a match. Don't lie like it's completely involuntary without warning when we all know it asks people to volunteer first.

 

If you didn't switch when given the option, it's because you didn't care that it was an unbalanced match and ragequit just because you wanted a guaranteed win. That's petty.

You absolutely already are asked to switch before ever getting auto-switched. If you didn't switch, it's because you didn't care that it was an already unbalanced match in your favor and ragequit because you're no longer at an unfair advantage.

They do ask you, and if you don't want to just don't press the button. btw you get a very large HC bonus for swapping teams. And if you still have high score/min you'll still gain mmr even on a loss. No one really cares too much about those stats anyway.

edit: Sometimes the game does auto-swap you if no one volunteers which can get quite annoying, but I understand why the game does that.

Random player (there may be some calculation involved? Feel free to correct me) gets force-switched if no one presses the button.

 

And I'm fairly sure large portion of the playerbase care too damn much about their K/D and W/L (the forum community is by no means an accurate reflection of the playerbase), such as this classy triple-posting chap we have here.

 

Here's an idea on how to appease the ill-tempered victims of auto-switch: put a noddy badge next to their name both on scoreboard and in-game for 24 hours to show what a selfless caring individuals they are, and it accumulates the more you switch. Who has time to be angry when you are too busy gleaming with pride at said noddy badge collection?

I always hit F8 if the unbalanced team notification comes up. Why can't you? That 250 HC bonus (or whatever amount) is nice... Also, if you're a good player, then you might be able to turn the match around anyway.

We can start up a match with some people and prove the message is shown 100% of the time every time if you don't believe us. Even if you were in the garage lobby the same message appears in the chat window. You're absolutely wrong.

 

If you truthfully don't mind balancing teams by volunteering to switch, then you shouldn't be mad when it's done for you. Otherwise you're lying and you really just want someone else to get picked.

The one gripe I have with the current system is it switching the first player who dies, because often that player won't be the one best suited for balancing the game and people who did volunteer get beat out by chance. I don't think this part of the autobalance is necessary.

Otherwise, though, I think it works well. You do get asked, every time. Even if you get switched from dying the message asking for a volunteer will show up first, so it's not like you don't know it's going to happen. Volunteering is essentially the same thing as the manual team switch button many people ask for, without as much possibility of abuse.

if you got switched involuntarily, it's because no one volunteered and you didn't switch when asked like you claim you would. If you say it was without warning, then you just missed the switch message because that does always show.

1) I get HC reward equivalent to winning

2) If necessary I can pull my tech and (somtimes) turn the losing team around

3) I like to play challenging games, not easy-mode

4) It prevents someone from a force switch

 

Lots of good reasons to switch.

My issue with the involuntary switch, is that far too often it occurs too late. A match can be all but decided before the half way mark. This is especially true in siege mode.

There have been plenty of times where I just don't feel like switching, and it has nothing to do with wanting to take the easy road. Example, there are people who are trash talking and I simply don't want to play with them. Perhaps a player has killed me 50,000 times and I want a revenge kill. Numerous times my team would have earned a marginal lead though solid play, and people will still quit early. In those cases it just feels like a punishment to the team.

if a player wants to switch, great. If not, add a bot.

i have a couple dozen accounts racked up, and i am intimatley familiar with the personalities of each and every one of my friends there. one common thread throughout (with the exception of my main: it is loaded with emps and isms for teammates if i get switched) is Don't involuntarily Switch my ass;

Someone has to switch if the game isn't balanced, or the game will suck big time for the other team, who have just as much right to enjoy playing as you.

 

If no one does it willingly then someone will get forced. Man up or GTFO.

 

I'd rather keep the other people who would have left due to being stomped without the forced balance then keep a selfish whinger.
