I think that would make a-classes useless as flagrunners couse then a 800hp brawler would be as manuverbel as a 320hp scout

Well maybe have certain debuffs for certain classes

Which is what I'm trying to flesh out above, we just looped ourselves around in a circle XD

 

tl;dr Would it be better if boost was gimped or removed while holding a flag, but walking speed and dodge speed is still maintained? A classes would still have their speed for survivability.

A classes loss their use of boosting and their radar

B Classes loss their use of weapons and items

C Classes loss their use of weapons and items

In all honesty, that seems a little bit excessive.

 

But what does everyone else think? Should mechs be affected differently when carrying a flag based on weight class?

Well A classes mostly rely on Speed and B classes mostly rely on weapons and items and C Classes well I don't know... Defense???

Well maybe just can't use weapons, Items, or Abilities and just have a wide open map. Instead of having maps that are even in length and width maybe a map that is more longer and more open. It would make it harder but add some cover.

I have a fever...and the only prescription for it is roar.... CTF!

 

Maybe some new items or consumables that give speed boots...woot!

 

or even temporary invincibility items/consumables...oh lordy!

 

or or traps and snares .....oh my!

Make a new map, slow down the carrier, and you've already got a version of CTF. Not a working version, but a version WORTH TESTING with the community. I feel that the previous devs didn't put as many experimental things out to us because they say it as risky, when really, it's still a beta. You've got to see what people enjoy, what they don't, have them test it and trial it, THEN revise and finalize. Please Realoaded, do NOT be afraid to put things out to us only to have it change... We want to have new things, and we want them to be as good as they can be, we expect change because it's a beta. Try new things just for the sake of trying. It could go through five different revisions or changes over the course of six months, nay, a year... but at the end of the tunnel you'll have a working version of CTF.

 

...Much better than just having one flat release of something you think is perfect. I still think Siege needs revising, honestly. And revising things isn't bad.

 

 

Maybe the devs should open a special test server where players can test out prototypes of new maps, modes, mechs and works-in-progress. They wouldn't be finished products but the testers would be able to provide feedback on it and that would ensure a better end product that would satisfy everybody. Any comments or suggestions on this?

 

 

 

CTF doesn't even make sense for this game. The maps will never play nice with CTF, since each layout is different and offers point advantages over others. You can reduce the speed of mechs carrying the flag, and limit the ceiling at which you stop floating in air, but it would require some map modifications to properly handle CTF mode.

 

That being said, a form of CTF inspired type of game would fit Hawken better, with varying rulesets and objectives. If that's what you guys are referring to, and not the classic CTF game, then I apologize.

 

 

 

Yes I think we all agree that a straight out CTF mode would be terrible for Hawken. But a new mode expanded along its lines could be just what we're looking for.

Anyways, I guess the topic has dried out but I still hope the devs see this and consider a CTF based mode for hawken in the future.

Please bring some version of CTF to Hawken. Mech Assault was a good mech game that did CTF quite well.

 

I need more CTF in my life and some sort of Oddball(hold item for time). Please note Oddball is the Halo name for the game type. We already have a version of King of the Hill(Missile Assault), but I would really like to see additional classic game modes emerge in Hawken.

CTF with a twist. One neutral flag, several drop spots on the map that need to be controlled by your team before you can score a cap?

I'd be down for a Last man standing mode, finish up the Fight Club mode and make it public ( not password protected ), Capture the Flag would be great ( though only if your team mates actually protect you while you have it... ), and that destructive-map mode that never made it past a video demo. 

 

A simple and quick way to improve things however woudl be to enable a few more maps for all game modes- Bunker is crying out for Seige ( it ain't too small, it's just fine... ), and so is Facility- it's almost purpose-made for seige in terms of size and layout. Uptown and Prosk would be crazy for Seige and Missile Assualt, but I'd happily test them and see if they actually work out okay, or are just way to crazy...

I would like to play the equivilant of Halo's Death Island CTF in Hawken, it would be a blast.

I think the current maps would work fine for CTF but it would need tested.

CTF is a great idea, but may be hard to realise, as some are saying.

 

I liked the idea of escort missions. Adhesive was talking about it, maybe they've done some preparations for that.

In some games, the objective is only to get one flag to an extraction point, then sides switch. Might be another fun way to play this.

How about CT EU. think about it like this, one eu station has 100 eu and to win players must gather eu form the eu station or  kill enemy mechs that may contain eu that they got form the eu station, and deliver to their base. eventually creating an EU CTF Game only thing is that the base must have 100 eu to launch a ship so that the winning team can either leave the battle field and call an air strike or just be able to blow out enemy base with a NUKE! and if like theirs a count down then if no one wins then a nuke kills every one! I think that would be awsome kinda like Call of duty black ops 2 NukeTown, when it blows up the hole place regradeless of who wins!!!!

I once played Siege on bunker on a 24 man mayhem server with the old devs, it was one of the best games of my life.
