From my encounters and experience, most of the players prefer doing close-combat. So i was wondering why isn't there any melee mech-type like with a blade as a primary and throwing knives as the secondary or something like that.
A melee mech-type should be very interesting.

Let me be somewhat nicer than Elite, even if he is right.
Melee mechs are something the community agrees on are not needed in the game. Thus, we are not up for the idea`s implementation.

Come on... don't tell me the idea of light sabers and mechs doesn't make you interested even the slightest.

^ Nope, not in the Hawken world, this is not a chinese cartoon mecha game.
Closest thing to melee I'd like to have in Hawken would be a hug action... followed by self-destruct.

It actually isn't and is from IDW Transformers comics (and even the original Transformers cartoons are western productions), I'm not entirely sure what your point is either way.

I remember a similar thread on the old forums talking about swords and when I mentioned how A-classes and C-classes have their weapons strapped to their chassi, some beautiful person photo shopped a scout with two samurai swords coming off the front where the weapons would be. It made it look like a robot t-rex and the thought of having to repeatedly throw the mech's body forward into an enemy going "stabby stab," made me laugh till I cried. We need that picture right now

I don't ever remember Star Wars being Chinese or a cartoon. And the proper name is ANIME... you should know this.

Ugh...it's hard enough to control the inevitable YOLO driver as it is, and now you want to add incentive to be that douche...no thanks.

Melee mechs are something ADH agreed on are not fitting in the game. Actually some one-hit-sneaky-peaky-stuff would be very interesting. As you would be punished for being unaware and it would make assassination within enemy teams an actual thing.
Safety by numbers would be worthless if melee would exist, which is good! Safety in numbers is a tactic prey does in t he wild. For example zerbras against tigers. The weak ones will be killed instantly by a strong bite in their neck.
An energized dagger for mechs would deal like 180 dmg/second if nothing is done to prevent the attacker.
I mean, why not? It would add some extra spice to sneaky playstyles. :]

The G2 mechs are pretty much "melee" mechs, as far as I'm concerned (Moreso the G2r). Hawken doesn't need anything closer to true melee than that.

I'm gonna guess internet slangs aren't your thing, look it up on Urban Dictionary or Know-Your-Meme.
Anyways, beam sabers are highly prominent in several mecha series, hence why I referred to them.

Ok, Ok, here's one......... THE EX PUERTO RICAN GIRL FRIEND MECH..... I don't no anything about building a mech but it has to be beautiful and frightening at the same time! Talk among yourselves. Unfortunately there may be knives involved.
This is the best worst idea I have ever seen.
