This has been reported in the past, very long ago. It's a major exploit. It was reported when devs were still updating the game, kinda, sorta ...
It never was fixed.

i saw this hack way back in americas army and now its in hawken i think that some people have shadowing enabled successfully

I would not call that a competitive advantage. It rather appears to be cheating.

Thats just the game no ini changes necessary. This seems to be more of an PSA for all of the people who play plastic hawken variations who have shadows turned off.
Come on Crafty, you have been officially called out on your lies. Your online reputation is at stake here, this is just like an old school street race running for pink slips. Its run what you brung and hope its enough. Put up or shut the fuzzy bunny up.

I assumed he was doing sarcasm.
Just for clarity though, the video was done with graphics settings to minimum, dynamic shadows on, capped smooth framerate on. That's it.

this is a bug. I also wonder how many hackusastions were started simply because an opponent spotted reporter's shadow, and simply followed it until out of cover?
I like going against the best of any game I play. Helps you in the long run n motivates u to do more. Always room for improvement not failure

Well is this a cheat hack or game glitch?
It's one of the reasons why I'll never touch anything made by the former ADH employees with a 10-foot pole.

Can we talk about the placement of the shadows?
Why the f*ck is the shadow on the underside on Origin when the object is above it?
