Modify A, B and C-class repair start (sitdown) times

This OP suggestion makes no sense to me when an A class can actually repair faster than other classes due having less armor. They can get in and out of combat in a heartbeat due to speed and ability to repair faster to full health. It's not even close compared to the B & C classes.

 

Yes the B & C may repair at a faster rate per second than the A class  (and I'm not sure about that).....but with not only the A's speed and tiny hit box,  that I think should be made larger, it's already the strongest class in the game....Please don't give me that Assault crap.

 

Toughest to hit, hardest to catch, fastest to disengage and repair, all the while carrying weapons as strong as any B or C class.

 

Sorry I say...NO, this is a very bad idea, very bad idea ! :yucky:  

 

Oh yeah...and forgot about the "Orb Loading" and how that can increase an A's advantage even further.  :sad:

And what's with the always pretending there is a hardened distinction between "high skill level" and "low skill level" matches?  The fact of the matter is that most games over the last 18 months have been "mid skill level" matches.  Most players are in the middle.  And that's where the balance should be aimed - at the middle/majority.

Yeah, the big issue about balancing A/C (DC) classes is what has been said before : high tier players know that C class are objectively superior than A class, while lower tier players complain about getting rekt by a little and fast hitbox. So, how do you balance this ?

 

Risk people screaming that you're copying tired old ideas from old games and relegate A class mechs to a support role where they act more like single purpose mechs rather than faster lighter but equally armed to B and C class mechs.  Have a scout fit into a role which its name suggests, same for tech/medic, infiltrator and so on.   They're pretty much light units that hit like heavy units right now, glass cannons, but still hit hard enough to throw off new players.

 

EDIT: basically, nerf A-class to weapons to damage levels that people generally expect from light units.. well, people outside of the groups of long time loyal Hawken fans most likely..

That would completely kill A class outside of Tech and low MMR servers.
