With votekick implemented (60-70-80% of players' votes needed), these are the possible scenarios that come to mind mind:

A: Kicked player is a douchebag (cheater, griefer, is insulting others, etc.). Job well done.

B: Kicked player is too unskilled and makes imbalance. He needs to play on a server with lower MMR. Better for him/her and for the other 7-9-11 people. Job well done.

C: Kicked player is too skilled and makes imbalance. He needs to play on a server with higher MMR. Better for him/her and for the other 7-9-11 people. Job well done. Player enjoys stomping? Then it is scenario A.  Kicked player can't find other matches because he is probably in the top 20 ? Well, that's an issue, yes.

D: 60-70-80% of the lobby are douchebags and kick players just for fun/whatever? This has low probability IMO. But probably it's better for kicked player not to play with them and go to another server.

 

To sum up I think that votekick could be more beneficial for the majority than harmful for some people. If someone gets kicked frequently, maybe it has a reason and he/she needs to think about his/her attitude.

Are there other possible scenarios that I forgot?
 

 

 

There's no reason to cater the game to known hackers/griefers, and lose your main playerbase as a result.

Why even engage in hypothetical rationalization on that subject?

Player retention is job #1 for these new Devs. And hackers and griefers kill off the playerbase.

Pretty simple.

 

 

EPA_EnjeliaH_FOX - some  questions to you man   1. how would you deal with person who abuse and destroys the game for other?

isn't the VOTEKICK the simplest and fast solution?

if reporting take to much time and programmers attention

why we should play in private servers?

and abuser should continue abusing on public server?

why no vice versa?

There are two great ways to prevent the majority of Vote-To-Kick abuse (since abusing it seems to be the only thing people are opposed to).

 

1. A set of circumstances that must be met before a player can be nominated for a VTK.  Things like "No score within 3 minutes", "Two suicides in a match", "Players score is __% higher or lower than any other player.", "No time spent in objective after __ minutes of match time."  can be indicators that a player might qualify for a legitimate VTK.

 

2. Limit a player to initiating only 1 single VTK per 30 minutes.

 

I'm not sure if VTK is the right solution for Hawken or not, but I do feel it is worth trying if it's done right.

Some of you guys can be in its same situation one day and not find a solution for go out because see only close-mindedness by someone.

It means avoid to damaging other players. Even if you think that he is a cheater or feeder going so to act bad with purpose or aims that seem right for you. I want that is so for all. HAWKEN can be only improve in this way.

Both of you guys did mistakes wrong. Try to reflect on your actions in the game in future and btw you in PM and with Devolpers if you too noticed that they ignore you, and don't ignore EPA, that is been warned about this situation.

Another attempt to bring the thread on rails again.

This and the thread before are good examples of how things can escalate. Especially on EU servers. A vote-kick with pre-defined requirements sounds good but I am a little bit sceptical regarding this. When it's easy to get outside the range of requirements for a vote-kick it will never come to play. Most of the abuser will be smart enough to prevent this, when the rules are simple like "zero score in first 3 minutes". It needs fine tuning, which means time not for other important stuff. So I don't see this happening right now or in near future.

But a simple implemented vote-kick. Just for a few weeks. Let's try it. And when it turns out we are all idiots and kick each other from servers the devs can switch it off for peace.
