One of us was supposed to be studying (coughnotme), but we decided to derp around anyway.

00:00 - Altering launch trajectory with Barricades
00:27 - Barricades overlapping pads = falldmg
00:56 - Launching a mech with a Barricade
01:11 - Launching a Barricade/Holotaunt with a pad
01:25 - Launching myself over the bridge using pad-det?

Most of this is probably general knowledge except for 0:27.

Figured it deserves it's own topic for that part alone.

And this is why I have duplicate mechs set up specifically for origin.

I'm kind of surprised you didn't experiment more with different angles for the barricades.  I'd imagine you could probably land on either side of the AA with little effort, and maybe even hop over the walls on either side of the approach paths to the AA with just a bit of tinkering and practice.

This is some great stuff, though.  Definitely shows your priorities are in order, at least from my perspective.

Ooh, I got a good one or two.  Editing now.

Wait, was that a det jump at the end?
I didn't know there was rocket jumping in this game.

Kopra had to go, and I don't wana play alone.

But yeah, there's prolly lots more possible if you've the time to invest into it.

I was thinking of practicing throwing down Barricades from E2 on Origin, since it could delay the enemy for a few seconds.

Even if the Barricade only alters their trajectory instead of completely blocking them it could be great; cannon fodder suspended in mid-air.

This is some great stuff, though.  Definitely shows your priorities are in order, at least from my perspective.

?At the very least, maybe people will toy around with stuff like this more.

I'm sure certain people could come up with some fancy stuff, given enough time.

Det doesn't push you far enough for viable use, but it's enough to get some fun out of it.

?Air Compressor's there for serious mid-air maneuvers anyway.

This is a pretty nifty thing, might be worth practicing.  Thanks for testing this out, Mergatroydle.

Are there any other jump pads with as much forward momentum as this one?  I can't think of any right now, but I'd bet you could block the top of the chute at facility and drive whoever bonks into it nuts.

I'm pretty sure one of the lowest jump-pads in Origin actually gives you more forward momentum than the ones we displayed.

There's alot less room to play around though as it launches you onto the lower bridge.

EDIT: You can block people from coming up there by placing a Barrier ontop of the chute, yeah.

EDIT 2: It's not as fun on Uptown and trickier, but it's possible to set people up as easy sitting ducks.

I've to eat right now, but I got an amazingly stupid idea.

EDIT 999: It was inspired by getting stuck in semi-mid-air by falling between a Blockade and terrain.

I wanted to try if a launchpad could push me between the two, resulting in being stuck as described.

I don't think it's possible with the current maps, or even at all.

Will a static mech sitting next to the jump produce similar results?

Alter the trajectory the launched mech will take?

From experience, if you scrape the static mech any time after you get launched, yes.

I don't think it even has to be standing still though.

Don't need a silly Air Compressor to get ontop of that peak.

I tried it with Turret Mode, and Detonator doesn't seem to push me at all.

I wonder if you can still MIRV someone out of a jump if they're in turret mode then.

Tested, it doesn't affect the trajectory at all in turret mode from either front/back.

To be sure it wasn't bugged due to ForceStartMatch, we tested non-turret mode, and MIRV did affect the trajectory.

I've footage, but I don't think it's neccesary to upload.

File's 1080p 60fps, but YouTube is being stupid:

Could someone test if an enemy mech standing on the Barricade will cause crushing damage to be dealt as well?

Preferably a C-class being the test subject, since those have the biggest hitbox.

I can't be bothered to test this myself atm, but if nobody else does I'll do it tomorrow.
