Why KOBALT?

 

KOBALT was initially thought up as a way to organize a group of the EU events and my clan. An easy way to keep track of things. However, since then it has evolved with an extended purpose: a group op players to offer help to new players and allow the community to easily set up, manage and receive help for more community events. New players looking to play HAWKEN can ask for assistance and hopefully be able to find their place in the HAWKEN community.

 

I�m hoping to achieve this through a network of already well-established players, current community events and clans.

 

 

 

 

 

KOBALT needs YOU!

 

Well, we need people to help out. People to help new players and get them correct and relevant information, to help out with weekly events, and the generally gathering and organizing things. KDR, UVW and Priority Target are already part of this initiative. 

 

Being a member of the KOBALT group doesn�t force you to join any set clan or participate in any of the events. You�ll just be part of the group and, hopefully, do your part.

 

 

 

 

 

 

For new Players:

 

Please do get in touch with any KOBALT member or email [email protected] if you have any questions. You�ll recognize the members by the KOBALT 'K' in their signature.

 

If you have any fun ideas for new events or tournaments feel free to contact me and we can help you out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

For veteran Players:

 

So this is for everyone who is already a prominent member of the community, in whatever region and any clan. It�s my opinion that the best thing is to try and give new players the best possible experience in HAWKEN. For now it�s been going alright, but I�m hoping that a legendary thing called �Updates� will bring in new players. Similar to when the news arrived that Reloaded were the new devs and the following spike in amount of players, I want for us to try and keep everyone playing.

 

It�s going to be a long process, but since a lot of you guys are still here from before the Great Silence aka the Dark Age, I hope you realize that. You�re free to do the best you can outside of KOBALT, or continue doing things your way if you want to, but I would appreciate it to get cross-region members and to get everyone organised in a less separated way. All of us using the same information and sharing what goes on (involving HAWKEN) in our separate groups.

This is why I worked to get Hawken hosted at TPG almost 3 years ago. I was well aware of the service a comp scene provided for a legacy game with a dedicated core of players over a very long period of time with minimal, or in the case of DoD, nonexistent developer attention.
Also what motivated me to take days off work to participate in some UVW's, field a team for PT, and join the Eu clan Strayed.
As well as trying to get some guys from the EMP stream show to help create a league back in 2013.
Community building ftw.
A few more eu 3 person teams for Sunday's cup would be fantastic!

Freeze are you going to update database , like who is member ?  Tips , some good information about game mechanigm .. etc so people easily can contact with them .so it will be easy to get some info and tips for the new player .

Well, it's a group. People who are members of KOBALT will be part of a group with the specific purpose "to offer help to new players and allow the community to easily set up, manage and receive help for more community events". For instance: if you want to use a server for an event you can ask us and we can temporarily set up a KOBALT server for you. Stuff like that.

 

More info will come once I get things set up. Feel free to ask any more questions. if you have them.

Chicken, you talked about a bugged circle crosshair in your picture. Can you elaborate? Due to ping / server performance issues?

It's a bug on breacher pred as far as I know.

Circle gets smaller when breacher is charged (think the size of heat cannon reticle or SMG).

But, most of the times it stays at it's default larger state , like for the breacher flak shot.

Looks like it doesn't scale properly for breacher. And I do like the smaller scale of the circle.

Would be great if it could scale down when breacher is charged.
