This "fake offensive" item, the "lethal confetti grenade (lol) based system might be used instead of an real & standard H.E Grenade or Detonator Vs. your opponent just to show him/her [whatever you want here] during a combat/duel/etc...
Would be interesting against new pilots, training, clan activities, et cetera.. ;)
More or less that would be the idea.. might be fun; really.. Isn't it? =)

What if we just give some bacon paint, some bacon holo-emotes and change Bunker from snow to bacon.
This way, everyone will be happy.
What you should really do, is replace your parts with bacon, so you can cook games and eat bacon
Obviously the wallpaper would be cooler if bacon was incorporated into it.

Silliness aside, I would be down for a smoke grenade. I feel like that would add a very interesting element to the game.

update -not essentially necroing this..:
.. during a fight and whilst you're good on health but the other guy is not.. he's only 15 or so HPs left and .. POF! you threw your confetti granade to that guy.. you immediately leave the place at full throttle while that guy is under a colorful rain of confetti right before saying "phew!".. or something
Fun and/or Compasion factor aside -or any other factors you may think of ..- I'd find this to be pretty cool in HAWKEN too
Note: Also good for training, clan evaluations, Et cetera..
