I do appreciate the art, but I don't have time to find anything good. /h/
I like going against the best of any game I play. Helps you in the long run n motivates u to do more. Always room for improvement not failure
FIRST OFF WHAT THE FUZZ IS A "SHILL"
Yall need to 1v1 willy in his vantank to find out.
No, because he never moves forward, except if there's an orb there.

I think that's the point of his style: he's aware of pilots assuming that a turreted van is an easy target, so he compensates by winning the dps/health race. He's tested this thuroughly, and the only mech in a 1v1 scenario that doesn't overheat before getting him Is a vulcan zerk, and even then every single shot has to hit him.
And he doesn't use an orblord build, either.

Not true. There is NO mech that can kill the vanguard flat out with full health and 3 orbs fully from the front. The closest is the Assault, due to its ability to sustain considerable amounts of damage for a longer period of time without overheating. The next closest is the Incinerator, for the same reason.
And by definition, I don't use orblord internals, but I do still rely heavily on orbs.
Which is great in a 1 v 1. In an actual game the answer is "walk away, chuckling and let someone else deal with him."
Still, I guess I learned that a turreted vanguard doesn't show on radar while boosting.
Most people refuse to walk away. My best guess is its an ego thing. The only ones who do walk away seemed to have already learned their lesson enough times to know better. To me, the strategy doesn't scream OP, but I'll fully admit that it is. I would best describe it as area denial, in a similar way to predator traps. I also often use the turret tactic to push right through choke points, because you can take damage from 2-3 mechs consistently. But it is never a good idea to push against a Rev GL Grenadier. And never without backup. Most skilled pilots will beat me in a 1v1 if I'm not already at full health. And doing it in DM is extremely tough, because you get focused a lot of the time. Overall, I only use turret mode about 25% of the entirety of a match. The remaining is played as normal. I also use turret mode when going into the jump pads on Origin (as protection without having AC). You can also transform out of turret mode in mid-air, allowing you to fall earlier and control your landing point.
...All this time and I did not even realize that about radar. I will have to confirm to believe it for myself, but that is definitely awesome to know.

YOU WERE THERE.
YOU WERE DOING THE TESTING.
WHAT THE DIUCKS.
So boosting turrets don't appear on radar, but GOBBLETIME does?
Come on Crafty, you have been officially called out on your lies. Your online reputation is at stake here, this is just like an old school street race running for pink slips. Its run what you brung and hope its enough. Put up or shut the fuzzy bunny up.

I have no memory of this. Either I was abducted by aliens and had my memory wiped, or I was drunk. Probably the latter.

I know riiiight? That was my first thought.

Has this been tested? cause papa saare has stupid good dps, or is there an assumption i missed?

My assumption is that he means no mech can kill the Vanguard in that situation before the Vanguard kills it.
I think the Incin might be able to overheat a miniflak Vanguard and subsequently kill it, not sure about smc.
Vanguards are fairly solid if u dont leave your ass in the air too long, if you do, some cheeky infil or zerk will pounce it, Turret mode has moments but i def dont think its f for the win, I think mastering that step time is more important, fatboy ninja ^_^

that darn g2 assault using its cooling ability can take out a van pretty well at any range but if hes close enough i can out dps him by constant smc fire and nades doing the bulk of damage long as you dont miss but he will likely just hover to keep both guns blazing so easy to shoot if you just try maneuver turret correctly to keep him from landing any bullets on your back

You can also Pop a nade into his flight path, or even Over long distance and apply a little directional control :P

this was funny becuse after 4 tow rockets, you dead!
Actually, no.
I run 3x repair charge & item re generator (to drop them quicker). I will post a video if I need to prove it. But I can sit and take enough damage for an Assault to overheat twice before being able to kill a Vanguard in turret mode with all 3 orbs used consecutively. It just can't out DPS the orbs. And that's without orb lord internals (Repair Kit/Extractor).
Everyone can feel free to add me on Hawken for some friendly 1v1s so that I can prove the OPness of Vanguard turret mode with orbs.
So Im playing this morning and this guy says hes gonna "tank" then launchs in a zerker...
yes?
So you Know its not an a class mech right? lol
