I cant start up my Hawken, i tried to reinstall it couple times, even steam too and nothing works, when i try to launch it nothing happens. im running win 10 and this happened after my pc force restarted while i was playing. this is very annoying:( i updated my gpu drivers too

Some of my Win10 problems got fixed by restarting in safe boot and then restarting again in normal mode, but that was some months ago.

When you launch the game, does it close after a few seconds without any message or does it continue to run or it doesn't even start?

I don't really think anyone can guess the problem like this, sadly :( I would try to delete every Hawken file (config files, etc.), I have no better ideas.

Try to close as many background programs as possible, i've noticed my hawken won't start with certain programs open (f.lux and Overwolf) also did you try starting it without steam ?

it does nothing when i try to start the game , i press play in steam or try to launch from a the desktop shortcut and absolutely nothing happens

Had this problem a few days ago, restting configs fixed it 100%

 

 

 

 

1. Reset your config files:
   Depending on your operating system there are different ways to perform this step.
   • For Windows 8 ond newer:
     Navigate to "C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Hawken\HawkenGame\" and rename the "Config" folder to "ConfigBackup". Afterwards copy the "Config" folder from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hawken\HawkenGame" to "C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Hawken\HawkenGame".

Have you tried running as Administrator?

 

I wasn't able to start Fallout 3 until I ran it as Admin. The launch screen would appear but when I click on the play button, nothing would happen and running as admin fixed that for me.

I'm surprised that people take my fuzzy bunny seriously. I made it clear for years that I'm crap at this game -_-

First of, check if you (still) may have any hardware/drivers issue or conflict as well.

 

Run Windows Update.

 

Download the CCleaner free software from www.piriform.com and disable any potential software causing any possible trouble while the system session starts in normal mode.

 

Are both of the required DirectX and Visual C++ libraries (deliverables) well installed on your system? The game install both just before playing the for the first time. Check the integrity and installation status of both deliverables.

 

Check the integrity of the game files in Steam. Verify it as well. Right click on the game in your games library, properties, local files tab.

 

Check your GPU drivers too. Perhaps you messed the GPU settings anyhow? In that case then go back to default settings.

 

Run a hard disk defragmentation to solve any possible data corruption/fragmentation in your files. Even a full Scandisk if you think is required and may be of any help too. (Takes a while but prevention is good; always).

 

Revise your fans (PSU, CPU, GPU) and clean 'em well if there's too much dirt causing cooling issues. Download the Speccy free software from www.piriform.com to check your hardware temperatures too.

I told you that in my first post :(

 

 

Running Windows 10 without issue here.

Sometimes start menu and cortana stops working, sometimes this issue involves the audio, too... The fix atm is just a restart, that's nice at least. A big update was installed recently, it messed up some of the icons' images :(
