My kid has dual ps4 and I rarely cod with them mainly due to fact I just don't like controllers. I never really have. It turns out keyboard and mice actually already work on a PS4 but 99% of games have them disabled within the game because  it is felt an unfair advantage as the mouse can aim with more precision.. There is one adapter widely available to covert the key/mouse signal to a controller input.

Do you think using a converter like that is cheating?

It seems to me especially if a game is cross platform, the console ability to use a mouse should be enabled.

Having been a PC-only gamer for the last decade and a half, I've never thought of a peripheral swap (mouse for a pleb console controller / trackball / joystick / kinect-like motion tracker / DDR dance pad) as cheating. If someone uses something other than a mouse / keyboard setup in a game and does well with whatever else they're using, then I tip my hat to them for overcoming the relative limitations of that peripheral.

Every time I use a console controller I feel like I'm giving up being bipedal so I can crawl instead.

As a result, it amuses me that some console devs disable mouse/keyboard support in their games.

It's basically cross platform already since you can play hawken with a modded controller. Seems to work the same, as keyboard and mouse. By changing settings and sensitivity I'm assuming it's the same, with same reactions speed. The only problem would be the server itself how that would affect a controller player to keyboard and mouse due to lag, ping spikes and etc.

If the game disables it and you have to find a work around, then yeah its kind of cheating.  They disabled it for a reason.

Handicapping yourself by using a controller on a PC is not the same as using a kb/m on console.

From experience:  The adapters that let you use a KBM on PS and Xbox do not actually unlock the actual KBM support that is supposedly built into those games.  The adapter is an EMULATOR.  It takes the input from your mouse and interpolates the movement of the mouse as an analog stick.

And it honestly doesn't work very well on most games.  IF the game has some very high turn and aim speed settings available, like the "insane" setting on the Modern Warfare games, you can get a 'reasonable' mouse aiming experience out of them.  For the rest of the games, the mouse aiming movement produces a pretty awful 'staircasing' effect when you try to move the mouse any direction but straight left/right or up/down.

For me, that made it unusable... especially at the costs involved.

With Hawkens turn cap... I think a console player could aim twice as well with the standard controller as with these KBM adapters.

To be serious for a moment this is just a joke

Hawken's turn cap limit does indeed make playing with a controller a more forgiving experience.

Hawken with a DDR dancepad, this is genius. Now I know what was missing in my life.
