Well ... no ... not when you play with friends.

I haven't played HAWKEN for a long time because many times I would open the client and fail to find a good game or see all my buds in TS playing another game. Yesterday tho, I was lucky enough to catch eth0 and get to play a few rounds, eventually more friends joined and I played for a good 3 hours.

The fun of playing especially with my THC peers, trashtalking inci and eth0 and absolutely destroying them without a scratch for a couple of hours is undoubtedly unparalleled. Also I appreciate playing along all my other good friends. I wouldn't pass on it no matter the circumstances.

Unfortunately I don't know if guys would show up to play HAWKEN as often, in fact I think the classic players group up to play other FPS games.

My wish is for people to try to get back to playing HAWKEN more and being present in the teamspeak for the sake of making the gameplay enjoyable for all. I don't think many of us can enjoy playing the game solo anymore, but it will always be major fun when hanging out with good oldies.

About 2 weeks remain before I leave back to resume studies and I hope I could find people around more often. My legendary skills are being wasted and fading away by the day.

FTFY.

But yeah, those were some fun matches last night.

Personally, I haven't been playing the hawken much because I was seriously disappointed in what came from the console release.  So I've been playing OW to pass the time until the patch drops.  Then its solid gold mech time.

Wednesday nights are good nights to find a game though...

I simply don't care anymore. When Hughes dared to personally tell me I am some kind of negative influence ... this was basically the ultimate point where he prooved to me his unprofessional work (and this of his team). If he would have succeeded, then I would understand and accept his anger but the fact is that ADH failed and even then telling me this stuff only made me laugh more.

And now we have Relaoded. While they are not doing anything wrong, they aren't doing anything at all (atleast for PC). Wow, cool some new mechs with dual seekers. It's just a different combination of what is already there. I don't care about backend stuff and other non-influential content.

What I wanna see is a graphic update, balancing of mechs and weapons, fixing what Hawken has lead to its fall: Favoring beginners while making it extremely hard to progress once one finished his/her noob-being. It simply results in alot of frustration in casual players who then just leave as the skill gap becomes larger.

I fire up Hawken when I feel like shooting some mechs and shouting at my team for being the worst of what I have seen in onlinegaming. But I seriously don't care anymore. It has taken too long. If Hawken should ever succeed I wouldn't be bothered. I have other games now. Sorry, man.

First off this game doesn't need a graphic update, you have the options to change all that in settings for pc version. If your pc can handle it as far as I know console doesn't have those options like we do. The game is balanced mech wise you generally have every possible fps line up. Tank. Healer. Sniper. Etc, same goes for weapons each one has its specific job as to what that mech is. The skill gap becomes bigger because no matter the bs the game has been through we stayed dedicated to it and kept playing. Practiced. Learned, which any player can achieve if you don't give up on the game.

This game just needs to be optimized again and changed too a newer engine. As far as I know this dx9 console is dx11 I believe and reason being they actually have a larger population than us since day 1 of release. Between both it goes up to 2k players or more on each one. PC has an avg of about 300

The thing people don't get is even if,changes were made to pc, I doubt pc population would do any better. It's not like 10 k console players are gonna have or go on a pc to play this version

You don`t need to be a developer to say that. If anything it should say just how bad of an influence you are, in that case.

See, in 90% of the cases I don't listen to someone. Words are meaningless. I look at what people are actually doing, how they react to certain situations. I then conclude and draw an image of them. Those who are affected by (negative .. and postive) words tend to get blinded.

What have I done, eh? Written a thousand posts on a game forum. What's so bad about it? I haven't recieved a single warning point until today. I can't be that bad.

People tried to punish me with all sorts of things. Especially when it comes to mad superiors like teachers, bosses, whatnot ... how often did they try to give me some kind of "warning point" and failed due to insufficient reasons. People just have a problem with my attitude I guess, but oh dear, it isn't my problem. :)

I refuse to listen to subjects I can't benefit from. For example a Hawken player wants to tell me about teamwork and how to use an Assault with an MMR of let's say 1600. While MMR is not an accurate representation of skill, I highly assume that this large gap between his MMR and mine represents a skill gap ... with me being a little more experienced.

Things would change if a palyer would completely wreck me in duels or if they would use an incredible challenging loadout and still do pretty well.

If you every heard about Rasti and AmpliFIRE, these were one of the guys I'd listen to.

MMR is a representation of skill. Those with high mmr tend to get mixed with lower mmr lobbies because of the limited amount of high mmr players, making it a nightmare for those players. Samething happens when a higher mmr lobby finally happens (once in a blue moon) you will have those under 2k mmr players in that lobby getting rekt then ending up leaving cause they can't compete.

The point of the game is just to have fun and help each other out in game. Even when pubbing alot of us use the hawken teamspeak for enemy location callouts and help. It's a good teamwork experience.

The actual title "Hawken" is in this font, but the menus are in Agency FB Bold Monda. Pilot names are in something that I thought was Agency but on closer inspection the letters are longer than regular Agency FB. It is probably just Agency FB Bold.

I don't see it as fun any more, it's more a kind of masochistic experience, I think. Reason being, there simply aren't enough good or experienced players around to make 'good' or 'enjoyable' matches- close matches, tough and well played matches etc. No, instead it's more like 1 in 20 games are good, regardless of game mode, and the rest are one sided roflstomps. Siege? unplayable- no one knows what to do, or they simply refuse to listen, no matter how plainly you ask people to go aa or go get energy etc- I had one guy ask me tonite where the base was, watched 3 others go to the wrong base ( free eu, how kind ).

TDM and MA are much the same- you end up with one or two guys doing all the work and the rest of the team kill gifting; it's only fun if you can kill people on the other team faster than they can kill your team.

Did I mention the lag issues? EU servers range from okay to terrible, NA servers all seem to be West coast so when I once had a perfectly playable ~120 ping, now its 180-200. I also saw a few guys complaining they were teleporting when they had ~30-40 ping.

I honestly don't know how anyone sees this fun UNLESS they are playing as a group with friends, there is no fun on public  servers, besides challenging yourself to win a 1v6 match. Say what you like about my whining or saltyness, it doesn't change the fact that all of the above is true.I think some people just stopped caring long ago about winning or having fun, they just can't stop playing for whatever reason and aren't even bothered when it's the rest of their team who drag them down. Whatever.

No duh you don't find it fun, you've left every match I've seen you in within ten minutes. Even if your team is bad it's not hard to manage and still have a good time.. unless you're you, I guess :/

A player being "good" is a relative term in a team. Can a player that moves with the group and tries to support others be considered bad if he is only stripping off some health and nobody is there to finish them off? By that definition yes. To the other players eyes on the team. You need a bunch of different roles fulfilled to have a manageable team and you won't always get that.

Please don't make up stories- I played with you earlier for a couple games and was there from start to finish. If I quit a game, it's usually within the first 2-3 minutes when it becomes painfully clear that no one is interested in going to the AA, regardless of being asked multiple times. At that point, there is no possibility of even making an attempt at winning, I'd just be wasting 20-30 minutes of my time. There is no 'fun' in that.

I'm not like those poor, poor kids who quit 30 seconds before the end in order to protect their win/loss ratio.

You equate fun with winning? Seems like a good way to set yourself up for a bad time.

From what I've seen you're pretty abrasive and commanding in game, might be why nobody bothers listening to you.. and even if you ask nicely or w/e people don't listen to you anyways no matter who you are, people generally don't like someone they don't know telling them what to do.

What's the big fuzzy bunnyng deal? Lots of amazing people have committed suicide, and they turned out alright.

I do miss VOIP, I must admit.

Also, I don't mind losing if the team gave it their best effort. I do mind losing if I'm the only one giving it their best. I don't see how that's so hard to understand, but I digress- if anyone finds hiding behind a wall or having their own private game of TDM a mile from the AA fun, then more power to them I guess. :)

Ditto. Seeing as how nothing has changed for the PC build in the last few months ( well, last few years actually, but... ), and isn't likely to either for the next few months or more, I'll probably play for another few days and then come back maybe, end of September, to see if that 'end of summer' update schedule that was sort-of promised a while back comes true. I am somewhat doubtful though, if you'll forgive my pessimism...

I don't miss VOIP because then I would be submitted to your insufferable loud complaints and rants about how terrible we are even if we're doing exactly as you say, o great one.  You were practically known for your offensive commentary regarding people's ability to play Siege back when VOIP worked.

You didn't say I was wrong or lying though, did you :D I don't complain if people do as they are supposed to ( hint: get on and defend the AA area )- I do complain if they refuse to even try, and/or would rather hide or play their own little game of TDM on the other side of the map instead of playing the objectives. I sound like a stuck record, the number of times I've had to highlight this particular problem with Siege matches.

Anyone would get frustrated by other players behaving that way too- how vocal they are about it is neither here nor there- there is a mute button, use it if you want to.
