If you look at Gartner's Hype Curve/Cycle for 2016, high on the list are smart robots, machine learning, autonomous vehicles. 10 years or more away are things climbing the curve: brain-machine interface and general-purpose machine intelligence.
Gonna be an interesting transition period.
Did I say Call Me Ishmael?
You should call me Luna.
we will have real Mechs before this Dev Team do a new patch
this broke down mid-exercise, so the Marines mounted the machine manually and fired the weapon. They were extremely exposed during the manual operation of the "mech."
Still working out the kinks. They're good until they break down, then they're kind of useless.
I guess that is what you want u tell it to go watch that flank and it kills anything that moves without any consideration or moral problem and doesn't suicide when back in states. And you don't want one of your team occupied looking at the small screen all day right.
brain-machine interface is harder than mars colonization and general-purpose machine intelligence is probably even more out there. Human like sentience is probably impossible for machines.

Looks like emergency stop buttons on the corners. Cute. I'm sure there's a long line of volunteers willing to try to run up and slap a button on the malfunctioning robot tank.
