Here are some suggestions that could potentially improve the Quality of Life (QoL) for the end user while in a match and/or combat situation. I feel like this area of the UI has been lacking in practical functionality for quite some time.
Many of these suggestions aren't total overhauls for the current UI implementation. Rather, these are designed to complement and/or extend the functionality of the User Interface - all for maximum benefit, zero hindrance.
I'll keep this post updated if any other suggestions, ideas, etc. may arise in the future as a patch gets pushed throughout.
Combat UI Enhancements
- Enhancements to "Mech View", or what is basically a detailed information window pertaining to an enemy that defeated a pilot while in a match (what you see when you are destroyed):
- Expand the "Assisted by" information to allow the end user to see information pertaining to all those that have assisted in your defeat (See Spoiler below)
- Spoiler
- When you click on a pilot name, the current information window should update to that pilot's information seamlessly
"User Experience" UI Enhancements
- Have the ability to sort mechs in the garage, while in a match, or pre/post-game lobby
- Also, expand the options to sort your mechs in a automatic manner (e.g. Sort A-Z, Z-A, ascending, descending, most played, least played etc.)
- Have the ability to modify weapon loadouts for mechs while in a match or within the pre/post-game lobby
- Why was this removed? Encouraging different builds is a good thing, but not being able to change certain parts of a build isn't
- Bring back the option to "View profile" when right clicking a pilot's name
- Additionally, expand the option to include access while in a match
- Bring back the in-game chatbox for mid and post game
- Additionally, bring back the ability to see the taskbar UI when you hit the ESC button while in a match (this includes Friends List, a list of recent chatboxes, and the chatbox itself)
- This one is
a littleover the top, but here goes:- Add a new feature that randomizes a mech in a match
- This randomizer feature should be a small checkbox under the big LAUNCH button when in a match
- When checked, the feature randomizes the weapons, internals, items, mech skins, camos, paint and—of course—holotaunts
- The randomizer feature should only work with what's already been purchased by the end user
- Add a new feature that randomizes a mech in a match
And there we go - if needed, I'll continue to add in more suggestions to this post if we see fit.
