- The Berserker has Always been the highest jumping mech; certainly the Assault-B is no match for it. Yet bots have figured out how to jump, not just vertically, but vertically and backwards to roofs that my berserker cannot. So two new abilities there, blind backwards jumps and extra-high jumps. That just doesn't seem right.

- They can Boggie! Once they're down low on points they zigzag-jigjag like they are on fire!

- They can get their Flak guns to always hit full force, when they are in fact low-chance hit weapons, and usually low p[oint damage, but not bots!

- their general tactics are changing; they don't always spill under the bridge on facility, or roar out of the back corner in Prosk, etc.

- they are attacking in groups, with shared pursuit.

- they will stalk you across the entire map.

- they use the backwards-melee move! (Circle your opponent backwards, firing at the ground in front of them)

- they have outrageous fields-of-fire; the Vanguards can shoot over 180 degrees without a facing turn.

- they have a phantom mode, but I haven't seen it yet...

Anyway, I can deal with all but the ridiculous jumping abilities; how about you?

Bots do not jump. They follow pre-determined paths that cause them to fire their thrusters.

- They can Boggie! Once they're down low on points they zigzag-jigjag like they are on fire!

Known behaviour.

- They can get their Flak guns to always hit full force, when they are in fact low-chance hit weapons, and usually low p[oint damage, but not bots!

Conceivably they may be using non-bugged versions of weapons, but more likely you, like 95% of the player base, simply cannot aim.

- their general tactics are changing; they don't always spill under the bridge on facility, or roar out of the back corner in Prosk, etc.

Unlikely. More likely that your constant ineffectual flailing against them has raised what passes for your MMR and you are seeing more advanced, but extant behaviour. But backend shenanigans are not out of the realm of possibility.

- they are attacking in groups, with shared pursuit.

Extant behaviour.

Extant behaviour.

I legitimately do not understand what you are saying.

- they have outrageous fields-of-fire; the Vanguards can shoot over 180 degrees without a facing turn.

Bugged game. Alternatively, it shot you from an extreme angle and it did not register until you were past it due to bad servers.

- they have a phantom mode, but I haven't seen it yet...

Bugged game. Didn't we report this one in Test?

- Also bots have an amazing ability to dodge just at the moment you trigger your secondary.

- Also they can see you when you are sleeping; they know when you're awake...

- Also bots have an amazing ability to dodge just at the moment you trigger your secondary.

seeing as the code that controls the bots is on the same machine as the server, it's a trivial operation for them to do a raycast of wherever you're aiming the moment you press the secondary fire button, and if that raycast has a bot in its line, then it will trigger a dodge, if the angle of the approaching raycast is within a certain arc.  considering all the operations going on there, it can be done in the time between your click being registered on the server, and your TOW "leaving the barrel".

as a matter of fact, the engine that this game runs on has optimized the crap out of that raycast operation - its the same one used to register hits with hitscan weapons.

again, remember: this is not some semi-sentient AI, just clever programming with a well established engine.  the bots don't "perceive" the game the same way that you do.  they have access to all player's positions, the direction they're facing, what weapons are being fired from whom and in what direction they are being fired, whether or not they could be "seen" if they were human players in front of a screen... everything.  the real nuts and bolts of the bots' behavior lies in what decision-making and pathfinding algorithms are being used, and what weight these have in the bot's action.

I like going against the best of any game I play. Helps you in the long run n motivates u to do more. Always room for improvement not failure

Hmm I'd disagree with the so called AI. Yes they are mostly all programming but some in other games are far superior. The one in this game sucks canal water and has gotten much worse. If anything it is NON-clever programming on a well established engine. Clever programming with the ONE shot kill of the Initiate Vanguard with a MINI-FLAK from across the ENTIRE MAP? Uh no. just no. Not even remotely clever by any stretch of the imagination. Or the massively over powered tactics or weapon damage that your mech CANNOT do. ie: bot scout flak, or the backwards up 100ft in the air (you can't do) for example. Or the bruisers that shoot through walls, structures, boulders, etc. The AI still needs a LOT of work. How about the illegal directx 11 calls that cause THEIR servers to start dropping packets by over 90% that is causing disconnects to a majority of the players. Uh yeah, needs work.

I never really have a problem with the AI, unless I just do something silly myself.......If I get killed, I love hunting that bot down (if it hasn't been eliminated yet) for the revenge kill.

Also love taking out those bots that camp up high on (Highways) that snipe the fuzzy bunny out of players....I have to amuse myself somehow while the game is pretty much in a death spiral.
