Here's the problem I have with it, and a whole bunch of anime's and games.

Why are two opposing military forces communicating with each other on the same frequency in mid-battle_

Like, in every Ace Combat game ever...you're flying a jet simulator, with your team, against a whole squadron of jets. Y'all are telling each other to cover who's back, or that you've downed a bogey, launched stuff, typical mission banter...but on the same frequency, you hear the jets holding down the button for the mic, and screaming before they die. You hear them panicking to each other...or smugly talking to each other, "Ohhh look at this guy, I'm totally gonna shoot him down, he's not so tough" only to hear him later going "What...IS HE!_ Let's get out of here!" and it's like, is this special technology that only the protagonist army has_ Where they can eavesdrop on the enemy at random intervals, but over nothing of particular tactical importance_

Suddenly tanks on the ground chime in. "FALL BACK! FALL BAAACK" and you're like, "Wtf, we can hear ground banter of units that don't even apply to us too!_" A radio station broadcasts the aerial raid to townsfolk in their homes. "WHAT, WHY CAN WE HEAR THIS ON A COMMUNICATION CHANNEL. MADNESSS!!!!"

...I'm not rambling...well I am, but there's a point to it. In all of these instances where mechs or jets are talking to their foes, I've only seen ONE. ONE INSTANCE where they acknowledged that one army uses one frequency and another army uses a totally different one, so they communicated to tune to the same frequency FIRST via an open channel. (If you're curious, Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory) ...ignoring the fact, that it was sheer dumb luck that the hailing party just so happened to catch his target while he was listening in on an open channel to begin with...but I digress, it gets way too complicated when you look into it like that.

So what I'm asking is wether or not there's going to be a sort of open-channel that's going to exist in-game_ What purpose would that serve if a mission control exists. Will this eventually degrade into an Unreal Tournament-esque spit-fest between soldiers_ Constant barrages of "You suck!" and "Eat lead!" among other things. As you hit the key for the insult, are you going to be able to spam it_"

"Loser! Loser! L-L-Lo-L-Los-L-Lo-Loser! L-Loser! L-L-L-Loser!" or something of the equivilant for the entire match.

FUZZY BUNNEHS BETTA RECOGNIZE THAT TRASH WOULD GET REAL OLD REAL QUICK. lmao

Would I like my mech to blare out taunts in a deep-scary-mechanical tones, YEAH! or maybe have my mech play some good techno... actually, I guess I can just do that myself.

That has so much hilarious potential, omg. From ED-209's "YOU HAVE FIVE SECONDS TO COMPLY" to just making my mech sound like Hank Hill. Genius.

This'll probably be a mod.

Taunts-wise,

I'd be more interested in just having little special animations or sound FX for goofing around, not so much actual dialogue.

Like waving one of your guns or spinning in place or popping a few harmless fireworks out the back of your mech or having a horn that plays la cucaracha or dixie.

Hologram smiley whilst popping out flares_ Holograms are the new in you know, and flares are both  for utility, and just plain classy.

I really liked BlackLights taunts and when they show the top 3 players and there characters was also nice. Would love to see that in this game.

Its gonna be time consuming to tea bag in a mech. so a taunt is a must.

Greetings everyone,
Taughts, never use them and rarely useful in most games I have played.
Unless you have some flexibility with the wav files it gets old real fast.
Then there are the spammers,  good job! or I don't wanna die!!!  ten times in a row that kind of thing.

Suggest:
Allow taughts with user option to enable and disable_

Teamspeak IMHO is the best. :P

Taunts are good in any game but in a fast action pace game like this you wouldn't have to much time to do it without getting shot/rocketed/stabbed/blown up  , especially if the taunt has an animation the flow would be interrupted but only for a short time.

I think it would work best in Hawʞen to have something that makes more sense in the game context. A taunt could be a harmless rocket that blasts paint on the target, basicly a "pissed on you" move. Or a robot-style finisher in melee range, like if i do the killing blow while in melee range it will automaticly go into cinematic mode and show me shotting the cockpit of the target and blasting everything from the inside. things like that

If not taunts then at least a klaxon or festive horn.

Yep, at least a claxon, 1 per mecha class. Limit its use with some fair delay too.

Not necessarily. That would depend on how taunts are handled in the game (to cancel persistant annoying taunts, for example..) and on how taunts (and I'm talking on wave-sound based taunts now..) would fit in the ambience and game's theme.

That's my personal view though.
