I don't remember. All I know is that they have always had a client available to download before the event started. I haven't played since they've added the launcher. I logged in today and it said it could not download the manifest (so no update). I uninstalled and then came here for the client... and there's no client

The launcher was available for download because there were ongoing beta tests. You could not preload the CBE3 client.

And when you couldn't preload the CBE3 client, the forum was flooded with people who didn't understand the global time zone system wanting to know why they were getting "unable to download manifest" (because the beta hadn't started yet) and couldn't play (ditto). I'm talking 16 threads in the bug reports section alone.

I think they learned their lesson this time.
