You didn't realize that the reason we got piles of Meteor Points in Closed Beta was to make sure we could buy, outfit, and test several mechs without having to grind the entire test period to get enough Hawken Credits to buy a single mech_ If we had to earn all of our mechs, the devs would have mountains of test results for Assault mechs and a miniscule amount of data on the other eight mechs because only a small portion of the playerbase would put in the many hours needed to rack up enough credits in a single long weekend.

Please do not presume to know what I realize or do not realize.

My comment was very specific.  I think the ability to purchase a 2nd mech is good for the game, for the gameplay, and will help cause even further purchases since players will realize the value of different classes of mechs.

Yuck because all assault mech game play is insufficiently diverse in my opinion.

There have been suggestions that the first mech purchase should be heavily discounted. Maybe we'll be surprised.

You lose it all. Assuming you bought no Vanguard Initiative packs, you will start Open Beta with 0 HP, 0 MP, and an Assault mech.

If you did buy a VI pack, you will start with MP appropriate to your level ($5, $20, $40, or $75 worth, which, assuming $1 USD = 200 MP, would mean 1000, 4000, 8000, and 15,000 respectively) and, for the higher three levels, the Vanguard Mech as well plus possibly other things.

From Open Beta on, MP will not be given out. It will have to be bought.

Look for the client download on http://www.playhawken.com/ when Open Beta begins on the 12th. It's not available yet.

Unfortunate for me, thats when my new machine ships (supposedly). Was curious, does Hawken suppurt dual video cards_ I skimmed the furoms and found nothing.

The latest Nvidia beta drivers have an SLI profile for Hawken, if I recall correctly.
