Before you go to the support ticket route, I would suggest uninstalling Hawken completely and reinstalling it from the direct link. The installer is 17MB, but the launcher downloads the rest of the game (about 2GB).

Make sure you are running the launcher as Administrator (right-click, Run as Administrator) to see if that makes a difference, as well.

But i can manually go to : http://127.0.0.1:527.../app.config.xml through Firefox and open it.

I already tried to reinstall it.

Your launcher still doesn't work   I have never seen a game in which developers can't solve such a serious problem during months! iMac 21.5 i5 2.7, 4GB, HD6770M, Win7 64. Launcher just shows the white window.

I can connect to the http server using my browser just fine and retrieve the xml file in question. The error log states the same "WebGet timeout" as in Janenkel's case. Additionally I also get "Response code set [/app/app.config.xml:200:3077]"

If you are receiving a white window when launching that may be due to your proxy settings. Here is a support article on that:

If you are receiving a different error please submit a support ticket with details of the error/fail and include a launcher log and DxDiag.

I had the startup problem but fixed it by logging in as my admin account. Actually having to log in as the admin and running the game.
Try creating an admin account and then logging in as that account and running the game. Do not run as administrator as this is not quite the same as actually being logged into the desktop account.
I see why the game was free to play now. I can't believe game devs still expect users to run such open systems.
When I ran the launcher before running as admin ("/Windowed") I saw failure to create and read files messages so made them manually in %userprofile%
Could it be a Windows 8 (x64) issue_ I doubt it.

The launcher self-updates first, if there are any updates to it, and if it can't do that, Hawken will fail to work. Installing anything in a limited account is pretty much asking for failure.

That's the main reason to use a non-priv profile if you're particularly malware-conscious.

Fixed it by turning off "Auto detect settings" or whatever it was under connections in Internet Options.

The launcher dont even start to download, start, enter the login info (i entre here with that, so correct) and the application show a message: Window tittle: Only the language is specified TM, and window content: i pity the fool who trys to run more than once instance of my app.
I use comodo firewall, and deactivate to try but no luck.
Doesnt even start to donwload or nothing, i try to dowload the installer again and uninstall but no luck. I try to install in diferent drive than C: but no luck. I give up with this game, a shame looks good in the screenshots.

Go ahead and file a support ticket and we will take a look.  Make sure to include the steps you have taken previously as well as a copy of your patcher/launcher log (https://playhawken.z...-a-Launcher-Log).

It sounds as though you have multiple instances of the game client running (HawkenGame-Win32-Shipping.exe).  You may want to also check your task manager to see if there is more than one instance of the client running.

I have this exact problem, i cannot download the client. Just to download the first 2 mb of the first client i had to open the client continuosly. Same would be downloading the entire game. Am i supposed to stay in front of my computer for 24 hours clicking the exe continuosly just to dowload Gb of datas_ Are you joking_

I think i foun a way to fix this. Try adding HawkenLauncher to the Firewall aloowed proghrams though Control Panel - Windows Firewall - Allow a program or feature...
