Im not going to read all of the replies, so excuse me if I'm repeating someone.

F2Ps don't generally have stories. Stories are really fun, and it would be unique to see a F2P such as hawken get a single-player story. Now, of course, I don't want this on the dev's minds until multiplayer is done and finished. But it would be cool to, perhaps, play pre-hawken virus_ Anyways, good idea, bad timing.

A story mode wouldn't have to be in depth, just give us a bit of back story and a reason for entering a short tiered tournament and some AI/Battle situations that could help advance a players skill level more naturally.
A Co-op (Team) could be interesting, that would lend reason for another idea I had recently regarding Escort type missions.

For some reason this game does remind me of the original Unreal Tournament/UT2K4 (in a good way) so something along those lines would be pretty simple. It could be an alternative resource for earning a few HC. However if there are fears that could destabilise the rate of earnings/progression vs multiplayer as it is now, how about awarding a few unique skins instead_ A couple of XP achieves.

I should say I'm yet to bump into any real lore for this game, I was immediately sold on big robots and blowing s**t up. But a few more things to do would be extra reasons to stay and could possibly draw in more people. It couldn't hurt what is already set in place if it's done right.

Furthermore why own computers when i can play against humans_ the unpredictability of the human mind is far more interesting.
No, not really. You either steamroll or get steamrolled, balanced matches never happen, you either end up wanting to murder your own team or the opposing one.

I would definitely enjoy a single player campaign if one will ever exist. The current world and story outlines are very interesting.

Having a co op campaign would defiantly sell this game to some of my friends. Its hard for some people to invest in a purely multyplayer game because it can be monotonous and the sense of progression is a little fake. A story adds some variety and I would be really interested in exploring this universe a little more. Some of the environments tell their own story. Prosk is my fave by far. It looks like Treasure Town from Tekkonkinkreet only in the future and with fighting robots in it!

Yes, I want it. No, it's never going to happen. They've publicly stated that the game is an online multiplayer title. It's simply not worth the thousand upon thousand of hours needed to create a single player campaign.
Never say never. Take Sim City for example, it was online only, the members came forward to pushed for offline, months later offline mode has been announced.

Not only would a single player mode make the game stand out from other F2P games, but it would also be a ton of fun. These devs definitely know what they are doing, and I have a feeling that if they were to make a single player mode, it would be completely ballanced and alltogether fun, because thats what they have given us so far. :)

Hawken should probably stick to being multiplayer only. This will allow the content we want to be worked on, to be worked on instead of side story or bot programming.

I did vote yes for singleplay campaign, also want it to be co-op. However, the big downside to singleplay campaign_ This is developed as a multiplayer FPS, so if the dev's released a cut and paste job where the 'single-play' campaign is just the multiplayer maps but with bots would be HORRIBY lame. To avoid a lame campaign, developers would need to spend just as long as the alpha and beta all over again making a really interesting singleplayer campaign for a small percentage of the hawken players, rather then continuing to produce content that is useable for the entire hawken population. Take Halo series for example. Great campaign's, great multiplayer, game stops updating after release (essentially). Hawken on the other hand, no campaign, great multiplayer, things still being updated and released, new content generation. That's what we get for sacrificing the single play campaign. Sure, some of us (myself included) want a great and intriguing singleplayer game, but to make it fun it would have to be radically different from the 'core' game of mech based pseudo-cluncky pseudo-twitchy FPS multiplayer game. Not radical like literally a different game, but somehow different from co-op. vOv

This is a grate idea. To have levels with wave of mech to attack on your own and it would get harder as you pass the levels :)
