The channel has been created. If you're familiar with a software IRC client, go to #hawkenscrim on irc.quakenet.org - if not, go here: http://webchat.quakenet.org/ - pick a name and join "#hawkenscrim" without the quotation marks.

Hi everyone,
I'd like to poll for interest in setting up a #hawkenscrim channel on an IRC server (a live chatroom). The purpose of this channel will be like many other games' #xxxxxscrim channels, which is essentially for players at the competitive level to idle in, and respond to requests for ringers/scrims.
For those who have not experienced this kind of system before, it allows for all players to be accessible in a unified place. Let's say someone wishes to get a scrim going, but their team only has 3 people online. They put up an open call for ringers. Anyone who is in the channel who happens to be available/want to play, can respond to this to fill the spots. After having a full team, the organizer can then put out a call for another group of 5 to play against.
Now, the keystone to all of this is the availability of players. If such a channel were to be created, would we have enough people idling in the channel to make it worthwhile_ Additionally, seeing that taking a server over at this point is rather difficult, is this something that would even be viable before we have private servers_
I for one would like to see this start to take shape, since even without private servers, it would make joining a game that is predominantly filled with seasoned players that much easier. In-game friendslists are great and all, but still limited by who you've met before/associated with. This would provide a secondary place for the competitive "scene" to congregate.
TLDR:
#hawkenscrim irc channel
-Do we have enough people to make it worthwhile_
-Is it worth doing before we have private servers_
