Or you could use bootcamp.

Or you could get a decent computer, instead of two-year behind the curve, overhyped fad-trash.

At the moment, Hawken is being developed for Windows (and for Android for Nvidia's Project Shield, but that's a separate team) only. However, some people have managed to get Hawken to run through emulation, and it works if you use Bootcamp to run Windows on your Mac.

Since when did someone who's enthusiastic/wanting to be able to play (presumably OP has a Mac and can't install Hawken because Mac) become trolling_ Sure, it's a little misplaced and sloppy, but that's a far cry from the "I'm brand new but QQ nerf everything" type of thread that deserves that sort of response.

Its the fact its a new user for the point of posting it without using the main account. Its nothing new to forums from a stand point of forum moderation. I would probably be fine if it wasnt the exact same thing in the introduction, general discussion and suggestion forums to a t.

On topic. It will be developed for Macs when they are finished with the Windows version. But the Mac version is still planned. As people have posted here it works on Mac with Bootcamp dual boot. Some people are working on getting a wine wrapper working for it but as of yet havent exactly had resounding success. If you want to play on native Mac OSX you going to have to wait for them to finish the Windows version and port it to Mac.

If you suspect the guy's sock-puppeting, report him. Having multiple in-game alts is allowed as long as you don't do anything funny like smurfing, but sock-puppeting on the forums is explicitly against the rules.

Will_ Or may_ I haven't seen any announcements lately explicitly promising an OS X port. I've seen general statements that the devs want to port Hawken to other platforms after they get it solid on PC, but those statements didn't promise specific OS ports.

I'm developing a mac wrapper (so long as the rabid windows fans let me), so you can wait for that until the official mac release.

There has been no mention of a native Mac client, period. It was mentioned that they're working to bring it to a streaming gaming service, which has a Mac client and will enable Mac play.

Beyond that, no plans for Mac support have been mentioned or even hinted at.

I'd strongly expect that the Linux community will get it running under WINE eventually, which will then be able to be adapted to work on Macs.

Don't... they already have it running halfway-decent (if fragile, with a bunch of legwork to make it work in the first place) on Linux via WINE_ Newer updates might've broken it again, but I'm sure I saw someone showing screenshots of it running on Ubuntu.

Not as far as I'm aware. Last I'd heard the launcher works, but the actual game client still is DOA. To be fair, I haven't checked up on it in the last week or so...

This is two months old, so I'd bet a donut that Open Beta has broken things again and more tweakery will be needed to get it to work, but... there's a screenshot of Hawken on Linux. And, I was wrong, Lethal_Kebab was running Fedora 16, not Ubuntu. All in all, I've made more grevious errors in recalling memory.

Looking forward to trying this if and when you succeed.

Thing that bothers me is the shear quantity of threads about this on here. Gives osx users a bad name. If you want to play it bad enough do like I did- install via bootcamp and quit whining. We've never had games (for the most part) so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
