That depends what is the GPU and how does the cooling look on the Laptop. My Laptop has issues with it simply because of some memory issue. But the cooling system is more than enough to handle it (solid Copper heatsink).

I do not know or think that Physx works with an AMD GPU in the system. This is something that nvidia blocks in their drivers because competitor. And why did you get a 290. Its the 480 all over again with its power draw and heat. Expecially when the 780 just dropped to $500 and the 780Ti comes out on the 7th in which might cause AMD to lower prices again insinuating a price war for lower prices and more consumer share.

R9 290, launched just today bro. The 780 is just too damn expensive. Besides, looking at a few benchmarks, the R9 290 is almost as powerful as the 780, that is 100 bucks more expensive.

I hope you like a high power bill. The 290 and 290x use about the same amount of power despite their differences in performance which is still Hovering around 460-500 watts. The 780 Ti is meant to out perform the Titan in games and outperform the 290x by about 10% which could launch AMD into a price war lowering the prices even more.

Perhaps unrelated, but some people might want to try to LightBoost their monitors. Works better in more colourful games where things move erratically (TF2, Quake Live) and you've gotta track them, but maybe someone will like it in Hawken. I've tried it and it's handy, but I wouldn't go and buy a new monitor for it or anything.

http://www.blurbuste...lur/lightboost/

Basically, it removes about 80% of LCD motion blur. The downsides are slightly altered colours and dimmed monitor brightness.

Supported monitors are:
ASUS: VG248QE, ASUS VG278H, ASUS VG278HE,
BENQ XL2411T, BENQ XL2420T, BENQ XL2420TX, BENQ XL2420TE, BENQ XL2720T,
Acer HN274HBbmiiid.

It has been a few years since I last dabbled with performance settings. Your instructions not only uncovered why HAWKEN was slow with my nVIDIA GTX 660, but also other games that I played recently. I wasn't aware that the nvidia panel was taking so much control over how the video card is run, so the adaptive setting came as a surprise. HAWKEN now runs incredibly smoothly thanks to the full power setting. Thanks for pointing that out, this has improved performance for all my games :)

My graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS.

What driver do you recommend I use for Hawken_

Current drive is 320.18. Fps is a decent 28 ingame.

I've done some reading, and it seems 186.82. is the most stable driver for my card.

Would you recommend I change it to this or not_
