Hmmm I fear this will turn into a Team Fortress 2 style.
Put that prejudice aside, I'm still not sure.

Will it eventually lead to an ammo/cool down party support class_

I don't know but such specializations feels as if I'd play a game that was designed for human characters.

I'd even say, and some won't like it, that I would completely remove the repair aspect of the game. I wonder how a little robot would replace some parts that are missing from a mech beaten up by bullets and missiles since pieces would fly off. I can see a robot melting metal pieces back together or charging a battery, but recreating blown up parts that half of it has been lost in dust....meh

It also bring the factor that the team with a healer will win, unless somehow they are easy to target and somewhat fragile.
Will 6 gunners win against 5 and 1 healer_
The other team has healing capabilities, but the other overall firepower....

Well unless I am mistaken isn't the technician being released in the same update as destructable environments_ So this mech alone won't be what breaks the balance (or fixes it)

I feel like they've given up defining which mechs are Sentium and Prosk anymore. Most of them don't even have definitions, and the ones that do are wrong, according to the team's own definitions (Piston and Cupcake come to mind).

You are mistaken. Destructible environments is a feature that will only be available on select maps much further in the future.

I don't think we'll see much of a Heavy-Medic dynamic with the Technician-Brawler. The Brawler doesn't quite have the firepower to hold off entire teams, being a largely immobile fatso with short ranged firepower. The Technician remains an easy target, is a flimsy A-Class and will have to sacrifice their mobility if they wanna repair that immobile fatso. And I take it their ability to fight is probably quite bottom rung.

Easy sweepings for an SS at a good angle or a Raider with good sense. Granted those mechs are waiting for nerfs, but if they can still perform their intended roles.

please. a mech that can heal other mechs.  that's just crazy..

imagine   a missile assault or a anti AA siege game.   4 rocketeers and 2 technicians.  their like a moving fortress.

if anything, add melee mecs, a fire flame thrower.   a mech with lasers.   a mech that has remote land mines, a mech that can charge to another mech's location and stun, a mech that can emp an entire enemy group next to him, a mech that can shoot a bullet with a virus that slows down the other mech, a mech that can dual wield 2 machine guns.

along with new maps.

map in outer space
map in the jungle
map at the wild life
map in the safari
map in the flying skies

a single player campaign. a simple hack and slash made by the community. mmmm

so i heard about this new mech the technician and kind of reminded me of when i frist heard about hawken in GTTV on spike and so in they're glimpes of hawken I saw what I belive no to be the TECHNICIANS'S "Repair Torch" So its kinda like the raider mech which you can if you look for hawken closed beta

I could see myself finally breaking down and buying this mech.  I'm usually the assist leader in DM games and it would seem that this plays to those strengths_
