Recently, I've been looking at clans in the Hawken forums. This is my first online shooter ever so I was curious and I posted a thread asking about female clans. So I was just curious as to what the hawken community thought of it. I haven't seen any other thread about this topic (sorry if you posted one and I over looked it) so I want to know. What do you think hawken_ Good idea or no_ Do you think there would be any interest_ Are you personaly interested_ Is it sexist to guys_ Let me know how you feel

I also want to add that I'm not interested in the all female clan because I feel that I get fuzzed on as a female. I simply am interested in the female clan to show unity and make a presence with my fellow female pilots. I would like to also state that I in no way have felt any sort of sexist feelings from my fellow male pilots as well.

I would also like to start that I don't really know much about clans so any sort of advise that can be offered would greatly accepted. If this poll generates enough interest I WILL look into starting an Amazonian Clan.

I´m supporting the idea although it isn´t really an alternative option for me (just for me!) to join an all female clan. I can´t find any sexism in it because there are many other clans for men which to join when in this clan is said "no guys". It´s sexism if it would be the onliest option.
Best wishes for this project.

Please excuse grammatical errors, English is not my first language.  Thanks!

Rita, I have mixed feelings on this endeavor.

In one hand, it is good for the gaming community.
On the other hand, I can't help but think that there is a line being drawn in the demographic.

We all have every right to be skeptical...

Hawken has a very mature audience, like every game you come across the few imature players but that is inevitable... but from what i've learned the majority of clans in this game are very well respected for their teamplay and their dedication to the game. I'm not against a "All Female" Clan, to be fair that would be awesome! but i have yet to meet enough women that play this game to even make a group... Give one of the higher up clans a try, you will be surprised.

I'm not opposed to joining another clan..  And I did actually think about joining the Wandering Guns... But for now I'm just going to keep my options open. How many people do you need to technically be a clan anyway_

I do totally appreciate the male support though

I support this, mostly because "The Valkyries" would be a great clan name.

Clans can be as small as 5 people. Some clans like Old World Lancers have only around 13 people in it, enough for 2 competitive teams and then you have clans like Black Steel Brotherhood that have around 300+ members.

Do whatever you want. Not a fan of the stigmas that tend to come with these 'all-boy' and 'all-girl' clubs personally, especially in viddie game communities.

Someone from the European division of the BSB told me about that. She said she made a logo and tried to get it it's own division but that there wasn't enough support from fellow female gamers. She made a logo and everything. She was the one who suggested I start this poll to see if there is even any interest.

I think the largest problem you would run into is that a lot of the known female Hawken players are already in Clans. Poetess and myself are in Steel Killers. :3

Yeah, I hear that.  I'd have to guard my heart from feeling I have to continually prove myself just because I'm representing CLAN-CHICK DURR.  I felt that way early on just on my own, but now I'm over it, methinks.  I think as long as the clan keeps a level attitude, it shouldn't be a problem, right_

I think it'd be fun to play together, just because there's so few of us in comparison.  Solidarity and all that.

We could get together once a week for scrims and call it the Knitting Club.

It will no doubt be perceived as sexist by some but at the same time perhaps it would be good for some of the female gamers who want to play games online but are a little apprehensive about doing so because of experiences or rumors they have heard about some of the male popularity roaming on the servers.
First online shooter huh, me too and I don't think I couldn't have picked a better one.
Yea I use Rocket Turrets and I don't care who knows it

I couldn't agree with you more SeaOfInsanity... So glad I let my husband talk me into. I was really apprehensive at first though because I didn't want to be that sucky girl that always gets picked last for flag football (Just for the record I was the first girl picked for flag football and had to quit playing with the boys in my neighborhood cause I made a few cry and their parents didn't like it, yeah it was about 8 inches taller and 100 lbs more, but it was so glorious taking him down with my little sister XD Mwahhahahaahahaha) But it is a totally serious stigma that guys are just better at video games, all my brothers learned the hard way they were wrong...

Anyway.... tataolly forgot what my point was... But yeah.. great fuzzin game.

^^ I knew a female only RPG group.

Would be nice to have more female pro hawken players~ Like promoted teams~
Love is like an Exotherme Reaction. As soon as it started, it will grow infintly.
Till it used up all the matter which let it react all that time~
Just be careful, how much of that matter you burn up for each second of your love.
You don't want to burn yourself on Love~

If there is the population to support such a group, I assume it could be successful. I know not what the benefits could be, but I wish you good fortune with the endeavor!
