Hmm, actually. since LovelyRita has been playing, I've been surprised to find that not many people are doing that. Maybe because of internet anonymity I expected the worse, but as we've all established... this is a fairly mature community.

I have seen only one female gamer in hawken for iunno 35hrs of gamming........ but ladies in First person shooters are rare indeed. also the girl i met is a techy player. heals me a lot for some reason when i play wid her.....

I don't see it as being unnecessarily feminist. It's not restricting access to content or giving preferential treatment in any way. It's like any other social group. It doesn't matter whether it's because you prefer to hang out with kindred spirits or because you are keying in on a specific identity. I'd be no more opposed to this on the grounds of exclusion than I'd be opposed to an all German gaming clan or an all Korean barber shop quartet. Go for it!

As a guy, I'm not at all bothered by an all-women clan. For one thing, it might encourage more women to play and not feel like they'll be harassed if they "out" themselves.

I doubt that there'd be enough female players to actually start a clan, although, if you did get enough, that'd be awesome. I don't think there's enough female gamers out there. Never made much sense to me, but whatever.

There's a few female players in the competitive Hawken group. Most of them are already in clans. If you can make this work, then by all means, go for it. Otherwise I would highly suggest creating a sub-group of all-women pilots in large clans like BSB and Wandering Guns.

In any case, I still think it's harder to organize right now since the "clan update" hasn't arrived yet. I'm hoping to Darwin that they will add it in the next patch so I can finally act as a real member of BSB instead of just replying to BSB recruiters that "I am already part of it (sorta)".

I've clocked more then 72 hours on Hawken, and Rosie's the only female hawken player I've seen. And I haven't seen her in-game. Women gamers are so rare.

we have female members, but we are not a clan. clans are a bit of a put off to anybody with a life and not an 18 year old  epeen male. alot of chest thumping and carrying on that i would just  rather skip altogether. who could blame a lady for wanting to venture past that mentality_ if you ever just want to get a game in with solid folks who don't focus on race,creed sex or religion we are here for you. hop on teamspeak with us sometime and say hello!

we don't give a S*&T if you are female, hermaphrodite, purple, green, brown, black, or blue, 12, or 80. as long as you are a decent person who likes gaming we will accept you. we have been around a long time and have many different types of folks in our teamspeak.

What he's saying is that -- the girls who TRY to out themselves  are annoying. The ones who make it seem like they are "special" because they are female playing a video game.
