OK, I thought it was about time that I had a go at building a Lego Mech so I dug out my 1980’s Lego box and got to work.

Here is my straight up, no frills, rather retro looking Lego CR-T Recruit.

It’s not exactly accurate but the best I could do with the blocks that I had. Some of which are older than most of you lot I imagine ;)

I do hope you like it because I had loads of childish fun building it! :D

Note: I know there is already a bunch of Lego threads but I didn’t really want to but in on someone else’s work and well…  a little bit of me wanted mine to have its own post :)

EDIT: 07/06/13

OK here we go...

My Lego Reaper!!! :D

Its not entirely 1980's Style as you can see but I would say about 85% maybe and Master Yoda will be glad to know that my Lego Tie Fighter is still intact ;)

Looks to me like some kind of a "prototype CR-T' - before Fred really hit rock bottom. Great work, I really dig it!

Oh man I loved that old school lego - before they started producing completely custom, exotic shaped blocks just to make a particular model more 'accurate'.

Thanks guys :) yeh the old school lego really makes you think man_! There are a couple of new Lego Technics bits in the legs but other than that it's all 1980's baby! :D

PS. Nice work on your creation Ropefish.

Man, I recognize each and every one of those parts.  What does that say about me_

Good stuff!

P.S.  For those who like to build stuff, I also recommend Zometool kits.  I only recently discovered them, but they're crazy fun!  Not the same stuff as Legos, but I imagine a lot of the same people would enjoy them.

Sorry but no ropefish it isn't. If you want a Lego trading thread then maybe you should head over to the 'Off Topic' forum and start one_ :)  I'll be happy to join you over there as I have a load of StarWars Lego's I would love to share. This forum is for Hawken related stuffs dude.

Very cool! Kicks me into a nostalgic state this morning and reminds me of my LEGO building days. (only born in '89, but all we had was my brothers old LEGO kits from early 1980's - of course, in that time I was more into re-creating AT-AT's, 74-Z Imperial Speeder Bikes and the Milennium Falcon.
