Someone once asked if there was a map of Illal.

So far there hasn't been one so I thought I'd make one.

I hope you like it.

They're not countries, just corporations in neighboring cities. In the graphic novel, the characters were able to go between the Prosk and Sentium HQ's via rail system.

Mapping Illal I like the idea a lot, but I agree, too green ! I think it's more :

30% Infected by Hawken virus (Origin) (spread visible from space)
20% Urban (Front Line)
20% Oceans/lakes
10% Desert (Bazaar / Facility)
10% Jungle / mountains
10% ice / tundra

If you read the novel, if I remember right, they are in fact continents.  Also I don't think crion is between the two. Also the planet that you made would have some really horrendous weather patterns. Sentium is so huge that it would be one giant dessert. These land masses are way to big and would not be able to support much life. That being said, I think that crion would be in control of a sub continent.

I was the one who mentioned about a world map btw.

Like I said, feel free to alter it or enhance it in any way. I haven't read the novels, so I just made something up. I guess I should have found out some more stuff about it.

This kinda looks like earth. But in Hawken there is polution, gray cities and no nature. This kinda looks like a tropical rainforest. But I still like it.

As we know there are some forests left, you should ad some green. Add some round city like structures as well. As we learned, the cities are extremely large and wide spread. It is almost sapossed to be like the starwars planet of coriscant.

I thought I'd animate it to see what it would look like. I simplified the atmosphere so more of the surface detail would show. Sorry about the speed. Any slower and it would be very jerky. Also the file size would be to big for Photobucket to handle, for some reason.

Good suggestions Odin, I'll give it a try.

that's very cool ! what sofware are you using_

also from what i remember/understood from the graphic novel, there is 3 main huge city :

Andromeda home of Prosk (Prosk map) there's some forests and mountains arround the city
Titan City home of the Sentium (Front Line Map) i think it's the biggest city
Praxis Valley the now infected home of the fallen Crion and origin of the virus spread ( Origin Map)

I really encourage you to read the graphic novel if you haven't it has some really cool stories and lore informations !

edit : on a side note, i like a lot the Crion logo in your sig =)

I made the texture in Paint Shop Pro, then I made the planet in Bryce 7. I rendered 90 separate frames, then made the animation in Animation Shop, which came with Paint Shop Pro.

I hope that makes sense.

I would love to read the graphic novel, unfortunately I'm unable to afford it.
