People can disagree, there is nothing wrong with that but for those that say they're now dying instantly may I suggest a different approach. The next time you die in a match, think to yourself "ok shoot, how can I avoid getting into that situation next time". Matches I've been playing still have that HAWKEN dance but if for a few spawns I'm dying quicker it's usually my own fault.

If you can, give the changes a few days to get used to what's different. With each life, think about how you died the last time and what you can do to avoid that.

Example: Last night I got smoked brutally by a SS. Guess what, I didn't run out into that area again, avoided it and made the decision between going after him, attempting to flank (or spawning with a SS myself) or be careful out there knowing he exists where he is, avoiding that open area as I attempted to rack up more kills, hugging the walls, using cover where I could, looking for other mechs as a light class that I could quickly get the jump on someone who was by themselves and wouldn't be expecting me. When playing as a light, I know that if I'm in an encounter that's looking messy, even if a 3v3 conflict in a particular area most likely I will die no matter what. And I should die for thinking I could survive something like that.

If you simply run into battle again and again you will die more than you ever have... It's just anecdotal of course but just pause for a minute, regardless of which mech you choose, regardless of the map, regardless of the mode and think about adjusting to not do what you just did and play to what's needed now.

EDIT: sorry, typed this fast on my phone and didn't focus on grammar or punctuation like I usually try to, lol. Forgive.

Nice joke, i had a great laugh!

Mechs are supperior war machines that can handle damage, since they are built for it.
What you guys are doing with the game right now is a shame.  I don't care for the TTK because we all
play with the same stats but it shouldn't be like this in a mech combat game.
Your Hawken mechs are now some fragile roses, and thats very stupid, it's almost like you guys are laughing
with your own game.

and pretty much every patch beforehand. Practically every time a new patch has come out there's been waves of kneejerk reactions and hyperbolic comparisons, and look what the playerbase has done every time - to quote the USMC, adapt and overcome. (yes I know that's not quite the whole quote)

I'm a 33 year old gamer, and I absolutely love the changes.  That said some SMALL tweaks are still needed.

Give things a chance, and think more about your play, it takes a fair bit to readjust.

So ... just like I thought , you'll not re increase TTK , not even a bit ... you guys want this an FPS , it appeals to steam players ... you don't want us to stop playing with YOLO attitude , it's just within the flow of your strategy ... if you want us to think more , give it a slight increase , that will make it for all ; We can play without getting killed by 2 SS shots , and we will be wiser with our choices !!!!!

I am sorry, but advices to be more careful simply doesnt help anymore.
you had to be very careful pre-patch. now you get slight dmg and you have to RUN like a hunted bunny.
Remember, your opponent also has low health as well.  You don't have to run away every time you take a smidgen of damage.  Heck, I've entered engagements with half health and won.  It IS possible.  Practice more is all I can say.

Must be why the player base is too small ... I'm sorry to say but steam will not increase the number of players with this last patch.

See people, suggestions are better than outright non-constructive criticism. I like the changes so far but agree and do think there is an HP sweet spot about 10-15% above where it is now.

I was going to make a post but found this one. It sums up how I feel about it.

The core game play has changed and not for the better.

Hopefully they will slow down the game  a bit.  This twitch fest and Mechs just don't mix.

If you were to change the models with quake 3 characters you would a have a great game.

Maybe they could Remodel, Reskin, Redesign the whole thing for something like:
Quake II + lithium + rail arena.
And leave the instagib flag on.

So are tanks, doesn't mean they can easily resist damage from each other.

Of course it is.  There's barely a difference between 10 Hp and 1/2 HP.  Withdrawing from a firefight is almost certain folly resulting in a tactical option being removed from viable game play.

Totally agreed, the TTK was perfect. From one of my fav games to losing it's identity intirely in 1 patch. :(

Marines have taken on a task that they execute due to their beliefs in their country.  Oddly some gamers choose to have fun and elect, at their discretion, games that they want to play because they are fun.  For many of us, these changes have sucked almost 100% of the fun out of playing a match of Hawken.  None of us have upped for a 4 year stint at Hawken.

That sums it up for me beautifully and succinctly.  We'll see if your and people of your ilk's opinion matters enough.  There is a handful of precious twitch gamers here who love the changes and maybe that's where the development staff will hang their hat on for the future success of this game.

It's unfortunate you feel that way, truly. Obviously we want as many people to enjoy the game as we can but it's impossible to capture everyone. For a good number of people though it's a lot more fun than it was previously. As always, we'll continue to keep our eye on values as adjust as needed (like yesterday).
