Hi all!

I live in Australia, which means I'm often having to play with pretty high ping (180 - 300ms). I tend not to go well, which I think stems from a combination of a lack of experience with twitchy online shooters, and an inability to "lead" my shots very well to compensate for ping.

Which Mechs would you recommend for me to use to minimise the impact of ping, so that I can gain a bit more experience at a friendly pace (rather than having to learn twitch play and ping management simultaneously)_

I guess that lock-on weaponry could help you a bit since there's less "leading ahead" involved. If that sounds good to you, you might like the Bruiser and the Rocketeer.

Bruiser and the Rocketeer.

Then...
Predator: lay mines & shoot from afar so nobody can get you cqc. I did ok  with 960ms ping a few days ago.
Tech: mainly heal, hide behind team mates.

If your lead/aim improves: SS, reaper, other hitscan mechs.

Harder... GL type mechs needs projectile speed + enemy movement lead/ping.
CQC: avoid unless you can lead well, or spam like Grenadier in large aoe.
