Sorry man, it's not going to happen. Jump on an enemies head and I does damage.

Melee would be pretty immersion breaking and presents itself as something that brings ludonarative dissonance onboard. Hawken's not Titanfall. It relies -arguably moreso than any other FPS out right now- on it's atmosphere and contextualisation to immerse the player. Something as short, fast and efficient as a melee attack completely throws the "big clunky designed-for-gunning-" ideal out of the way and just breaks that sense of immersion completely.

Closest we get to melee is Incinerator's ability.

Close enough for me.

What about non-melee, close range weapons (like the Incinerator's), such as explosive charges_ Electro-shocks_ I'd myself like to see a mech that had a big ass piston for a weapon instead of a wimpy little gun...

It's a matter of opinion.

Flamethrower fits nicely. Flak somewhat fills this role too since damage is negligible on long ranges.

Why not but I still enjoy jumping on top of C class Mechs while cloaked as Infiltrator.

Flame thrower is classic mass impact weapon for any FPS. Flack cannon is just a really crappy shot gun. I want to see weapons intended for doing damage in tight corners (in other words a back-the-f***-off weapon).

like the gernade launcher reven gl. (like the gernder) the eoc repeader. or even the mini flak that has a ton of dps at close range. oh, here is one. the mirv function of the corsare, add in the t32 fully charged up and you basicly vaperize the hp of anythign that gets in your blast..

maybe what your looking for is already in the game. you just need to look for it.

Q: Why aren't there melee mechs/laser swords in the game_
A: After countless discussions within the community, the consensus has resulted in a "no" by the community.
The developers have stated that they don't intend to add melee to the game, as it doesn't match up with Hawken's game dynamics and lore, and their position has not changed so far. If you think about it, all mech arms/struts are fixed position holders for weapons. And laser swords are for gundam etc, not Hawken.

NO! Only melee weapons what deals alerting amount of damage but doesn't one shot. Around 10% of enemy mech's health if melee weapon would deal damage I would count it okay.

I think game needs more collision damage to alleviate people's desire for melee. More damage from sitting on people, dealing damage from boosting head first into someone, I'd love to just ram my Raider into everyone with Blitz on.

Hehe, an idea thats been debated in the past. I think its a good addition, although we do have the goomba stomp (still_ I think, gotta play more XD). Games like WoT do have collision damage and how effective it is is based on speed, weight, and duration.
