Just curious to see how the community customizes the internals of their favorite mechs; and interested to see if there are any common trends.

Personally I find the most ideal setup for all of my As/Bs is:
-Air Compressor
-Deflectors
-Basic Fuel Conv.

I don't even use C class because its terribly slow but I reckon it would be similar.

Share away!

I wish there was more to it, but I've found that the vast majority of my Mechs use the following:
Air Compressor, Deflectors, Basic Extractor
Radar MK2, Repair Orb MK2

There's a Fail Safe, Advanced Repair Kit and Advanced Armor Fusor here or there, but the above works on virtually everything. There's a reason why almost all of these items have the "Popular" tag, and it's not because it's simple -- they're just best-in-class 9 times out of 10.

It was fun while it lasted.

On my lights or anything that is constantly on the move I put,

-Air compressor
-deflectors
-extractor or shock coil if its the infiltrator.

For the pred though who is the exception to this rule

-Air compressor
-basic fail safe
-basic reconstructor
-shock coil

On my fat C's with alot of explosive weaponry

-Air compressor
-failsafe
-basic deflectors

For the brawler
-Air compressor
-advanced reconstructor.

-Extractor MK2
-Fuel Converter MK2
-Deflectors MK2

This setup goes with everything. Yeah, just like Guile's theme.

P.S. Air Compressor sucks

Cupcake setup:
-Adv. armor repair
-Deflector Mk 2
-Basic extractor

I use this setup on most of my mechs.  I prefer to do a lot of flanking and always staying on the move, so the Adv armor rep really comes in handy for reducing down time or just straight repairing on the go when changing locations.

Failsafe, deflectors, shock coil and that one that gives you the 15% damage reduction after death. There my fave setup at the moment.

I got a different setup for all of my mechs, giving them their own personalities.
I`ll fix it later.

I confess I'm a bit baffled as to why someone would want air compressor on Brawler.

Yeah, it's kind of a boring system for internals now especially w/ tuning out.

Only difference seems to be in items which at least is more interesting than previous EMP+Shield.

With that being said, I think this is as good for balance as I've seen with just a few mechs that need tweaking.

I've been running Failsafe, Deflectors, Basic Reconstructor, Basic Extractor, MKII Det and MKII Orbs.

No air compressor.  Flying mechs are blasphemous. (not really, i just suck at flying...)

There really are only 2 builds that are worth using right now.

some people mentioned a couple things I want to point out why they are not ideal.  The 15% damage reduction after death sucks - why_  As soon as you get a kill it or 2 assist it stops working, ie useless.

also the convert damage to fuel is pretty bad now that dodging is free, at most I would recommend the mk1 version if you must have this, the mk2 is overkill, also with the little amount of health we get now, it is just not a great internal.

Continuing on.
Build 1.a - Air compressor build

1 - Air compressor
2 - deflectors - mk1
3 - evasive device

Build 1.b

1. Air Compressor
2. Deflectors Mk2.
3 - your choice of basic power surger, or basic extractor

Build 2 - No Air Compressor - ie Evasive + deflectors mk2 build.  Less maneuverability for more Tankiness/sustain

1. Deflectors mk.2
2. Evasive Device
3  Repair kit  (Can swap for extractor, surger, etc.)

These are the best builds for top tier , imho.  These provide the most consistent and useful benefits at any given time.

you make a lot of good points amisto, but i feel that you are neglecting the usefulness of the reconstructor.

airdodge/reconstructor has been the best fit for my scout playstyle, as, if i need to disengage, i can do so easily and in the process of repositioning i get healed.  not as useful in tdm as dm and ma however.

_incitatus: he is clearly more fun than detonators ; = better.

Air Dodge, because it's strong
Deflectors, because it's strong
Fuel Conv, because it helps keep Air Dodge going

vive la différence! repeat ad nauseam

"To the untrained eye this chart may indeed appear to demonstrate a steep and sustained downward trend; however, what you're actually seeing is the line being dragged down because of the strengthening gravitational pull of a player base that is actually increasing in density.  Rest assured, this is all going completely according to plan."

The problem is reconstructor will not help you in an actual fight, and the best players will not let you disengage, or will let you think you are safe, and then sneak around and flank you to finish you off.  I build to fight the best.

New build I have started using recently on my infil is actually just Compressor, and the ability refresher item, pretty good actually.  AA contested_ Cloak, go in, get 2 or 3 kills and cloak is ready to use again in no time.

To  those who say cloak is bad,It comes down to user experience. very useful in the middle of combat, evading potential hellfires,  for positioning, sneaking up on people, getting in close and unloading an alpha on someone.
