Hawken/Steam overlay issues

The earlier crash report I posted seems to stem from steam's overlay.
I've noticed that every time I get a steam popup - like 'friend joined game X' then hawken crashes.
It only does this when you're in a game, so far.
I have a previous post with the crashlogs and all the pertinent information I could think would be needed.

I play hawken on steam and I get a hawken crash report popup and now I cant play it anymore so far

Did you already check if there is a Hawken-related error record in Window's event viewer_ If so please post the excact wording of the error title and error description.
