This tells me that the server may have a problem reaching the European server so we'll just have to wait till the guys working on the servers fix it...

I'm trying to download and getting the same error, although I'm from South America.

Not an error, the event will begin tonight at 7PM GMT (or 12PM Pacific DT as said in news). Beta download will work then - correct me if i'm wrong.

I cant wait to put my hands on it.

when i started the launcher, meta error, then i tried again and it started downloading again...

Congratulations, you've found how to launch the client offline. This is mentioned all over in the forums.

You can download now, it's just that servers won't be up til that time. However the download servers are being demolished by everyone downloading at once, everyone needs to have some patience.

on the admin thing - are all the admins from the US_ how about recruiting an european to the mix too_ just a thought!

GAHHHHHH. ERROR. ERROR....I can't play, kill me now! . Same issue here, hopefully it is simply down to the beta being offline.

ps: if anybody can start the game -> open console -> type in "open dm-andromeda" -> map should load -> open console -> add bots "numberofbots"  (this worked in alpha2 not sure if the map/comands were renamed)

You can open the client by running directly from the exe at:

C:Program Files (x86)MeteorEntertainmentHawkenInstalledHawkenFilesBinariesWin32

Your command worked great - lets me optimize video settings before the beta wooo!

Reporting from Turkey, the issiue is same here as well. :/    It's a client problem probably.  Client can't reach to servers, becouse they are not opened yet. We need to wait till evening i gues.

That's not really a fix, it's just a way of getting into the game offline while the login servers aren't up. It doesn't actually fix the problem at all.
