Unbound "shiift+s" for 180 spin.
Have it rebound to a mouse button.

Do you ever accidentally trigger the 180 spin when you don't want to_

I was basically being a bit silly. It's the same physical layout, basically. http://www.dvorak-ke...ages/dvorak.gif

I do the same - also switch RMB with W on the keyboard. Not sure why or what game I decided to start doing that ... but its what I do!

I use WASD for movement, both left Shift and left Alt keys are bound to boost/dodge, and left Ctrl for alternate fire mode.

Come on, are you saying you hold a gamepad in the left hand and your mouse in the right hand_

Yes

edit: and for the next question; Yes, I can pick up a basketball with one hand.

So you use the Numbers Pad_  Do you have a separate Pad apart from your keyboard.  My desk setup would not have the space for a full keyboard and Num Pad.  That has to be awkward.

Its a standard keyboard that has the full numpad on the right side.

Its not awkward at all, to me its very natural.

I use a gaming keyboard. Steelseries ZBoard. Best gaming keyboard ever! And the Microsoft 5 button Intellimouse!

Posted Image Posted Image

I've killed 3 Z-Boards in my day, they are really really cool.
And that mouse, maaaan. That mouse I ran throughout the first decade of this millenium.
I found it in a box in my basement 2 months ago and passed it along to my oldest son as he embarks on his pc gaming journey.
I can only wonder if it will last to his children.

I'ts my 3rd mouse of the same {*edit: MICROSOFT 5 BUTTON INTELLIMOUSE}. I have almost used up all my parts. I have my next mouse already as a back up {*edit: STEELSERIES SENSEI RAW is my backup}.

I have Sensei RAW rubberized, it's good mouse, but the plastic is so cheap.. I have mine for something over half a year and I already noticed some little cracks. No, the mouse never dropped on the floor, never got hit hard by anything, just normal usage. That kinda sucks for such price if you ask me and I'm too lazy to get a replacement or something, because I kinda feel it will be the same anyways.

Fortunately, I should still have my old GIGABYTE M6980 (or something like that) somewhere, still good as new.
Got few Hawken vids here on my YT.

I love the Logitech G13 gamepad and the G700s mouse.  Both are highly customizable and have very natural hand positioning.  I would love to map the controls to my thrustmaster HOTAS though, so if anyone knows of a way to do that; please share and I will be eternally grateful.

I too use the G13. I had the Razer Nostromo before that but the Logitech is better. It's really just WASD though but It feels so much better.

CM Storm Inferno - Twin Laser MMO Gaming Mouse

This is the mouse that I am currently using.  It has more than enough buttons and they are in the right places.

I currently have Boost, Dodge, Special Ability, and Deploy items (Detonator, Emp etc) mapped to the mouse buttons.

Did you start out this way or did you re-train yourself_ Way back in the day, I changed the bindings in MAME for Asteroids and Space Duel. I could never shake the goofy bindings I had initially started with.

Your layout is intriguing... I will try

I think you may have just saved me from rage uninstalling Hawken some time in the future. This drives me crazy... I honestly didn't know I could re-bind! I owe you a beverage of your choosing....

I keep adding this to my Amazon cart and then removing it... should I just pull the trigger__ It looks awesome. I'm using a Corsair K70 right now and the feel is pretty smooth due to all the metal... does the G13 feel solid_

Anyone who knows how to type should recognize my keys layout.  Basically, I've extended the natural left hand/finger positions of a typist and assigned movement keys to the ASDF and Space Bar.

I think I started using this layout back in the days when the game Decent was popular.  That game had six degrees of movement. Keeping my hands in a natural typing position allowed me to have the maximum reach to all the keys a left handed typist would normally have.

Most players are set in their ways with WASD and cannot transition to my setup, but I do find that there are plenty of good/better players then me so I am actually interested in what other player's keyboard and mouse setup are.

As far has buying a new keyboard, unless you have money to burn, I would wait till the old one broke before buying a new one.
