well a detailed study made with my friend on the topic given above made me conclude that both the weapons are the same. Well except in the case of range.

comparison

assault rifle                                                                                               smg
1. rate of fire low as compared with that of                                        rate of fire more than assault
    smg
2. deals more damage than smg                                                       deals less damage
3. heat generation high                                                                      heat generation low

well from all this i concl that assault is same as smg except in the case of range.
on the basis of heat generation 1 bullet of assault=2bullets of smg
on the basis of rate of fire if it is taken per sec then (assuming) the smg=2 bullet per sec while assault=1 bullet per sec
on the basis of damage 1 bullet of assault=2 bullet of smg

guys if you did not like this analysis pls dont send anything harsh to me :(
if you like this pls do comment

happy gaming to all :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

In short, the sub-machine cannon tends to be the better pick. The only thing that the AR has over the SMC is more reliability at a range, and at that range, landing TOW rockets is harder due to enemies being able to see them coming and dodge out of the way. The SMC also has the higher damage output and a lower heat generation with only a marginal reduce in accuracy.
