what  most game developers fail at, is hooking the new player, and making it impossible for him to leave.....  

minecraft has 90s graphics, yet it's the most popular game...   league of legends has graphics like my SNES, but it's the most popular moba.

on topic: im excited when april 2015 comes next year.  that's when hawken will open up the UE4, and finally start charging..   I will still pay for hawken content..

Well I was actually asking if something like this could happen,from the answers I get its hard,but not impossible.
As I said it before,whatever we are telling about the future of hawken is speculations,till someone from above gives us a hint.
Though...to you the doomsayers,the dev's silence doesn't mean death of the game,but a secret,secret that I honestly believe will be revealed soon.

People are advising not spending money on the game, clans and groups disintegrating, devs are apparently leaving.

As someone else said, this game is on life support. And that life support is us. If this community didn't exist, Hawken would be dead because of all the issues listed above.

Ok I get it,some of you have your personal opinion about this game future,but  its like you hate the game and don't wont it to succeed as much as we do.Get it_

We did.

We are saying that this article is inapplicable because Hawken's problems are not the problems The Stomping Land had. The Stomping Land's problems were in the beginning stages of development - actually getting a working version of the game.

Hawken's problems are much more complex and at a much more advanced stage of development. We have a working beta version (with plentiful bugs, don't get me wrong.) and not an early alpha, which is what The Stomping Land is at.

The dev's silence when it lifts will be to announce the new infrastructure they've been setting up and probably an update comparable to what we've gotten in the past. There will be no massive update or a switch to UE4 because that is unfeasible at this stage of Hawken's development and it makes more sense to release a larger update over several weeks rather than all at once because that will keep us happy for an extended period.

And what is the stage of Hawken_Except some bugs which could be easily fixed in a big "update"(or whatever u want to call it) its quite polished game.Dont get me wrong,but after checking some of the games around with mechs,nothing compares to Hawken.

I want all your tears in a jar when the devs come back and say "We finished all the technological debt, the servers are transfered, good day", no content patch or balance changes, nothing. I will put this jar on the shelf with a label that says "Hawken Community -  Hopes and Dreams" and it will be a constant reminder of how people imagine things up to deal with the fear brought on by developer silence.

After a few months when I grow tired of it and need the shelf space for something else I will sell it to another free to play community.

Why tears_Despite of all our dreams Sylhiri,I will still be happy with just the servers fixed,cause this means they ill have time to spend  on some further development

When was a playerbase close to 190 a healthy one_ And why risk money on a game that slowly disappears_ Many clans are simply tired of promoting a game for the devs without really having anything to show to new ones.

Do you remember when we last had a proper fight club_ Because I don`t. They stopped making them when they knew that fewer and fewer would join, since they got tired of the game, and who can blame them_ A F2P game is relying on updates frequently to get new players to stay.

SUNDAY SUNDAY DEATHMATCH is basically the same thing except on Sundays and not focused on 1v1s. Lots of the top individual players go and fuzzy bunny around doing stupid stuff for hours together, so it's close enough.
